Quibble Arrives!
New AC Rares!
The traveling sales moglin, Quibble Coinbiter, has returned to Battleon with an all new assortment of rare items (most of which he is willing to part with in exchange for AdventureCoins) which are magically themed, in honor of the new magical Arcangrove area.

In an AQWorlds first, Quibble will be staying in Battleon for a little longer than usual and next week he will be ADDING special items in honor of Talk Like A Pirate Day (including the all new Icy Naval Commander armor!).

A lot of you have been asking for new rep dialy quests to help you earn Arcangrove reputation a little faster and we have answered your call. Speak to Ewa in The Cloister and Paddylump in the Mudluk Village to take on their new reputation daily quests!
Remember, we are only halfway through the Arcangrove saga, with lot of areas (and lots of new rep items... and maybe even a class) to come!

Coming Next!
Now that we have fully recovered from DragonCon (except for Llussion who had to go to the doctor today and hasn't been in all week) we will be continuing the Arcangrove Saga, as well as beginning plans for AQW's third birthday in October.
Just letting you guys know, we WILL be offering 2nd Upholder status (much like we offered 1st Upholder a year ago, and Founder a year before that) with a special badge, rare item, bragging rights and all the benefits that come with being a 2nd Upholder!

The AE Team is home with tons of Pictures and Stories
We are back from the biggest and craziest fantasy/sci-fi/anime/pop-culture convention of the year. Over 30,000 people attended DragonCon in Atlanta, Georgia this year... most in costumes... we had the time of our lives. We got to meet players of the games for the first time as well as see many familiar faces. Please note is is officially against the rules of the AE team to post photos of ourselves.... (note: we are very very bad at following rules) Read on!

The Battle Bus and Truckstop Payphone Madness
We crammed 36 members of the AE team into three vehicles on the way up. (Somehow we came back with 39...) At the first rest stop the noise our phones make when we get a new twitter message went off... Cysero had posted the phone number to the payphone we were standing next to and we started taking calls from players who wanted to say hi! We took calls from nearly 20 players during our pitstops!!!

The official word from the DragonCon staff was that thanks to all of you who attended we were the #2 panel in the entire gaming track! I wore the Paladin armor that Nythera's friend crafted for me.... because, and please know I have never dressed up in cosplay before so I was quite nervous. Especially since the armor was finished literally 1 minute before I went to the panel. When I walked in, everyone started clapping.... I nearly shed a tear. But instead I showed everyone the top secret way to get an AQW Paladin to hurt themselves.... make them do jumping jacks with those upward swiveling shoulder pads!

Player's got to see the man behind the voice of EpicDuel's epic updates as Titan talked about the PvP game. Titan from EpicDuel. Cysero was... as usual... hysterical!. I have no idea how he makes us all laugh so much.... and the prizes he gave out were so weird! ...including a tutorial DVD on "how to draw pistols like a real cowboy movie star" and what has to be the worst kung fu movie... dubbed... but not in english... with a half-finished paint by number image tiger on the cover.... and the most popular item of all -- a banana signed by the AE Team.
We took questions, showed clips from movies that you will see soon as live action game and.... of course... punted Twilly. The winner of the 2010 Punt Twilly contest took home Guitar Hero for the Wii (thanks to xFinity.) Oh, and we got two very unusual gifts. Cysero was given a GIANT sock made of socks... which secretly contained a little baby green sock. One player's mother baked us 3 pies that said 'Battle On' on them!!! (We also got some super cool chain bracelets!)

This year's in-game convention attendance item was chosen by everyone who attended the panel... a Steampunk Dragon. It has been added to the game and placed on the characters of those who signed up for it at at the panel. If you like the style of this SteamPunk pet.... read on because we are thinking of an entire zone of SteamPunk stuff that everyone can help us make! As requested by the players, the steampunk dragon explodes if you sit long enough.

The only thing that could have possibly made the panel better is if you were all with us too... and maybe a live action game to go along with those videos. Next year let's work on getting both of those things!
ROLITH PROPOSED TO ALINA!
THE BEST PART OF THE WHOLE WEEKEND! During the 1st night of the convention.... DragonFable programmer Rolith proposed to DragonFable writer Alina! He chose the special spot where they had first spent time talking and getting to know each other at DragonCon 2 years ago. The proposal first happened in game in a AWESOME and funny cutscene completely unbeknownst to Alina. Players waiting anxiously to hear the result. You can still play the cutscene and see what happened by logging into DragonFable and then reading the design notes.
The Big New Game Announcement
The big news at our official panel was the announcement of a new MMO which is scheduled to start Alpha in November. Members of AQworlds will be invited to play in the alpha, to help test our new game engine and be the first to fly around wearing your undershorts on the wrong side -- that is right... it is time for a Super Hero game!

Later that night after the panel we co-sponsored a party with Sony Online Entertainment and xFinity (formerly Comcast? ... they change their name more often than Nebula asks for new bows.) There were a shocking number of people attending with dancing, light-saber limbo...

Party Disaster #1: Artix Apologies
I would like to sincerely apologize to all of you who I invited, but were not able to enter due to the age restriction. Originally we were the sole sponsors of the party and it was an all ages party. Somehow, along the way this changed and we were not notified. When we found out they were carding people at the door I was really upset -- especially since I invited so many of you personally. I spent most of the party in the hall so I could talk with players who could not get in, but I know many of you had already left before then. I am truly sorry and will make it up to you. Next year we will be throwing a party on our own and you and everyone reading this post are officially invited as guests of honor.
Party Disaster #2: Artix wipes out on stage... then loses voice... in style
This was the first time we had ever done something like this -- we were very unprepared. Now, I always speak to you very personally sharing the good times, bad times... and then there are stories like this one. The other companies at the party all had giant banners, marketing materials on the tables, a live web video feed and a bearded dwarf lady in full armor (who had some killer dance moves for the record) We.... um.... did not know we were supposed to bring anything, LOL! When our Dwarven co-sponsor got up on stage and gave out tons and tons of free stuff... we gulped. Then when they gave out tons of MORE free stuff... we... gulped again. we were informed that it was our turn to go up in front of the 500+ person crowd and I was to say a few words on behalf of our company. *Panic* Now, that was a tough act to follow... even if we had brought anything! It is sort of like finding out you were supposed to give a speech in front of the class... right after the super smart guy who always made you look bad in front of the cute girl you had a crush on had just given their speech. (Was that a bit too personal? I wonder what Tim Kibiki is doing now. Anyway!) So it is my belief that there are only two options in a situation like this. 1.) You can swallow hard, walk up on stage, and politely thank everyone for coming and hope no one notices. Or 2.).... (and my choice).... you run up onto the stage full throttle, grab the mic while yelling BAAAAAAAATTTTTTLLLLLLEEEEEEEEEEE....... (like Kimberly from One Eyed Doll during that live event) and then flipping wipe out onto the stage as hard as physically possible. I tumbled and hit the stage so hard that the audio equipment jumped. Every one in the room suddenly turned to the stage as the room went dead silent. I stayed motionless the obligatory 2 seconds then sprung back like a spring on my shoulders and did a martial arts kip-ups, jumping back to my feet and yelled into the mic.... OOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!! The room laughed and cheered. With a surge of confidence I thanked the crowd and ad-libbed, "We are WAAAAY to poor to have brought you free stuff... ", and over the room's laughter I continued, "HOWEVER... if you walk over and talk to the lovely Safiria standing *points* over there she will here she will give you a free item in our hit MMO AQWorlds!" Then Cysero said a few words and I took the mic and shouted "PARTY ON!" as we walked off the stage. In the crowd... a bunch of people said, "Hey... isn't he supposed to say Battle On?" So I grabbed the mic and screamed Battle On so loud that people in the buildings OTHER party heard me.

Later... that night.... or into the wee hours of the morning... We saw Voltaire's perform in front of 4,000+ of his fans. Sporting a newly grown beard (very odd!) he sang songs from his two new albums "Spooky Songs for Creepy Kids" which features cover art from the event and the AQW live event versions of the songs.. AND... (and this is not made up)... songs from his *blinks* new Country album "Hate Lives in a Small Town" Very strange! They are available for pre-order on his voltaire website.

For those of you following C's Twitter they and their friend entered their robot "Binky the WarBear" into the robotics competition. With 2 wins and 2 losses, Binky did a mighty fine job! But the underdog robo-win of the event went to a 6th Grader who's mechanical monster beat everyone including even the favored to win MIT Robotics student's machine in the final match

Celebrities & Thanks!
There were a ton of celebrities at DragonCon... for example, Stan Lee's room was right next to mine. We got to see Kaylee from Firefly, Data/Riker/Counselor Troi from Star Trek, and even Buck Rogers! (This way was easier than calling them by their real names and then explaining who they were) George Lowe was there -- and surprisingly hard to get past the line to talk to! .. and no DragonCon would be compete without sitting uncomfortably in the elevator with Kevin Sorbo (Hercules) and not saying a word. But the people we were most excited to see at the con was the staff and players who came to see us. DragonCon is the only time we get to see far away staff like Westwind, Aelthai, Pae, Vivi, Kamui, Stratos, Razer, Koi, and Maegwyn. Also, Sunumbrella once again returned all the way from New Zealand to see us.... and all of the other familiar faces that joined us this year. Thank you for coming and making this the biggest and most memorable time ever!
Zorbak... erm... Twilly goes to Con!
Each year, Zorbak has run around with his camera taking pictures with people in the best and craziest costumes! However, this was Twilly's last year at DragonCon (There are less than 100 of him left at Jinx and is about to go perma rare as the new Twilly 2011 is being released next year.) So we photographed Twilly trying to heal and cure all of the zombies, monsters and other cosplayers! These photos will show up on the Zorbak goes to Con website later this week!

SteamPunk... the next big thing!
Imagine an alternate reality where steam became the source of all energy in the world. Set in a Victorian themed world full of romance and adventure with steam powered vehicles, crazy goggles, and clockwork mechanical madness... this is SteamPunk. (Did you ever see the movie Wild Wild West with Will Smith?) It is growing in popularity faster than that time we put tribbles in our server room. People were dressed up as steam punk super heroes, and there was even a steam punk Ash from Army of Darkness! All of the old anime stalls seemed to be converted to SteamPunk stalls selling weird retro-steam-nerf-weapons and victorian hats, and... half the AE team came back wearing steam punk goggles. We want to do a SteamPunk zone in AQWorlds. Instead of doing the same ol' same ol' we want to do something really crazy. I was thinking a Clockwork Necromancer with an army of steam-augmented undead (but you guys know me...) Do you have any ideas? Have you ever heard of this genre before? What would you like to see in the next AQworld's major storyline? (...and do you think we could get away with some Doctor Who references?)

Obrigado Brasil!
Brazilian Independence Day
I've really got to hand it to Brazil, they know how to pull our strings. Lots of people have asked to have things put in the game, everything from adding their personal armors to adding flags for their country, but we have never seen such an amazingly polite, calm and organized movement from so many of our players.
You may not know this but Brazil is in one of the top 5 countires that play AQW. We have so many Brazilian plyers that I've considered trying to learn Portuguese (the official language of Brazil) just so I could talk to them in their own language!
I'm not sure which players started it but we have gotten phone calls, letters, tweets, and every other communication possible asking that we recognize Brazil in the game.
I don't want to give you the wrong idea. This wasn't spam. We weren't being harrassed (like the Green Star Sword fiasco). These were simple polite requests coming from literally thousands of individual Brazilian AQW players.
Today is Brazilian Independence day and we decided to say obridago Brasil (Thanks, Brazil!) By adding the Obrigado Brasil shop to Battleon with a sword, set of daggers and horned helm inspired by the national colors and standard of that country.

Dragoncon is over. WE SURVIVED!
We returned from con yesterday with more stories, adventures and swag than we know what to do with. Allow me to say thanks to all the wonderful players who made it out to see us from all over the USA and the world! We hope you had a good time, cause we did.
As you know we give away a free non-member pet to everyone who finds us at con and attends our panel. This year we took suggestions from the panel itself for the ultra rare Dragoncon pet and the concept that won was an exploding Streampunk Dragon. J6 is working on that right now and we should be hand delivering them today or tomorrow.
During the drive up and drive back, I stole an idea from Weird Al's Twitter. Everytime we stopped for gas, to eat, bathroom breaks, or just to stretch our legs, Artix and I found a pay phone and tweeted the number out so we could talk to those of you who noticed.
We had SO much fun talking to our friends who managed to call in the 10 minute windows that we were able to talk. It made the 8 hour trek up and down a lot more bearable for us. Thanks!
We hope to do that again next year!
We're all still recovering from over stimulation and lack of sleep so it might take us a few days to tell all of our stories and get this year's Zorbak (And Twilly this year) Goes To Con pics up.

The Mudluk Village
I'm pleased to say that we are already testing this week's release and it's only Tuesday. Since we are headed to con EARLY on Thursday, we have all been busting our respective humps trying to get this week's release ship shape and ready to launch on Friday. Of course we are learing EARLY on Thursday morning and I wanted to have all Wednesday to test the Mudluk Village, so we are pretty much done with the release ALREADY.
My goal was to have a quality (mind you, not-rushed, fully tested and fun) release ready to go by tonight and somehow we have succedded. I have to say, even i'm impressed with our work. This is one of the most fun and well rounded releases we've had in a while.
We have a beautiful new map, a new fun boss monster, a killer cutscene, lots of great monster drops, secret AC shop, new rep items, a great new NPC, new area music (Skyline's first try in-game song!), and a wicked puzzle that will require a pencil and some paper to get through.
Unless your friends decide to go all lamezorz and tell you the solution.
Personally, I'd make you work for it.
We even had a little time left over so we made a new Social Item (like the Marshmallow On A Stick from the Friday the 13th Event) to share with your friends. It's the FREE Color Custom Sorcerer's Apprentice Hat. Keep an eye on Twitter and other social networking sites for your free hat! You have my personal guarentee that it will never return once it is removed so keep your eyes peeled.

We will be releasing the hat later today probably but the Mudluk release isn't coming out until Friday, as usual. It's fun cramming into Artix's hotel room and releasing from Dragoncon!
Cysero's Con Survival Guide! (revised 2010 edition)
Last year, in honor of Beleen's first con, I posted my con survival guide. She managed to live through it so I've decided to repost my helpful guide here!
WHAT TO BRING
* A Large Bag. You're going to to be carrying a LOT of stuff around with you and picking up a lot of stuff as you con so a large bag is necessary.
* A Towel. Your hotel room will probably come equipped with these but I always preffer to bring a large, beach-sized towel with me wherever I go. Hitchikers listed most of the uses, but for a more practical example: I have fallen asleep in the hallways of more than one convention hotel and it's always nice to have a towel for a blanket or pillow.
Note: Cysero also wore a white bathrobe to our last panel - use your best judgement with all advice.
* Energy Bars. Meals come unpredictably during con and staying alive can be hard. You never know when you'll be stuck at a table-top gaming session that lasts 14 hours straight... and if you leave the brutal GM will just kill you.
* Bottle Of Water. See above.
* Extra Strength Energy Shots (Optional). You know, those little bottles of energy booster that they sell everywhere. These things are not great for you, but caffine and sugar have no effect on MY metabolism and you might be built the same way. Con goes day and night, all weekend long. And it's a holiday weekend. I consider them a necessity during Con.
* Cash (Well Hidden). As you explore the convention you WILL encounter some stuff you NEED to own. Swords, pithy shirts, novels, Lou Ferigno selling autographs... and there is a 50% chance that the thing you want to buy, you can't buy with plastic.. If you plan on falling asleep in a hall somewhere, be sure that your cash is in your sock or in the secret pocket in your boxers... you don't want to wake up broke.
* A Mobile Computing Device. Most modern cell phones will do, but you might not get a signal in the underground mazes that connect the convention hotels. Having a wireless card in a small laptop is priceless. A smartphone attached to a 3G network will do (con-tested my iPhone last year, worked like a dream). You might or might not Tweet. You might or might not need to check your facebook but your FRIENDS will NEED to contact you about something that you HAVE TO SEE RIGHT NOW!
* A Friend. The buddy system is always a good idea. That's why I bring Alces. He's part Dr. Gonzo, part Chief Medical Officer and part Tech Support. He is all best friend and has been for more than half of my life.
* A Camera. Fully charged. Memory card empty. NEEDS a flash. Your cell won't do for this. Too many dark corners with Halo Spartans hiding in them.
* A Zorbak Plushy. It's the ultimate ice-breaker. "Can I get a picture of you holding this guy, please?" "Sure... what is he?"
* Good Walking Shoes. Trust me.
* Glow Sticks or a Dance Party App. Last year Alces and I accidentally found ourselves in a mobile rave. One guy was wearing the sound system and power supply on his back and his two friends were each wearing giant speakers converted into backpacks. The party never stopped moving. Alces and I took a chance, caught a cab, went to an all night market and bought $44 worth of glowsticks to give to share with our fellow mobile partiers. We were gone about 4 minutes, but when we returned to the street corner, they had moved on. We spent the next hour followig the sound of those booming speakers until we caught up. If on'y we'd had the glow sticks on us!
That should be, more or less, everything that you need to pack. Other options include: clean clothes, costumes, things you want autographed, video camera, portable game systems (some lines are long), a map of the con (some of us like getting lost), a pair of scissors (for a lock of Kevin Sorbo's hair while he's passed out in a fountain somewhere), a sketchbook (for ideas), a steampunk R2 unit, Sonic Screwdriver, or grappling hook... just cause.
It's going to be a heck of a party (and I get to bring my shiny new wife and son. It'll be their first REAL CON!). It's a Artix Entertainment Underground lab tradition and it's one that we love. Last year we got to meet a few of our most hardcore fans and we hope to see a lot more of you there this year!

Teleporting the Team
... the low tech way!
As you know, we normally have 5 days to do all of the art, animation, writing, coding that we barely finish in time. But there are only 3 days this week! Monday... Tuesday... Wednesday.... and the next day would be called "We are on our way to DragonCon day!" There are over 35 of us going to DragonCon this year. Always striving to be on the front edge of technology, we are going to travel to DragonCon using teleportation. It is easy... everyone shows up at the lab at 6:30am. We start the teleporter*. The energy stream transfers their body data**. Poof***! We arrive at DragonCon****!

Before there was even a tower in Arcangrove... there were the Mudluks. An ancient, friendly yet shy race of amphibious creatures they use magic in every part of their daily lives. Once you have made a friend of a Mudluk, you have a friend for life.

The Cloister
After investigating the flux of magic in the Observatory (or, um, whatever it turns out to be), continue your journey to the sacred Mother Tree of Arcangrove: The Cloister. Once a safe haven to the Druids, The Cloister is now overrun with nutty little Acornents, Karasu, and the dreaded Wendigo.
Ewa the Treekeeper needs your help restoring the balance to the Mother Tree in one of Lore’s most beautifully intricate maps. Srsly, this map is huge. Druids must have teamed up with J6 a long time ago to forge this awesome magical place. You’re probably ganna get lost. I know I did. And I have the cheat-sheet in front of me.

Anyway! I know you are really going to enjoy this new place. The AQW Team really put a lot of work into this release. The music Warlic made for this zone fits perfectly in… almost as if it were magic… Hmmm, coincidence? Not a chance. When you hear these tunes, you too will realize that it was fate (and maybe some caffeine) that brought these two together.

Shocking music video... literally!
Our friend, former-chaos lord, and Friday the 13th brain slime fighter, and One-Eyed Doll lead singer, Kimberly, made a guest appearence with ArcAttack on the last episode of TV's America's Got Talent. DragonCon is almost here!
What is DragonCon?
DragonCon is a fantasy/sci-fi/anime/lots-of-stuff convention in Atlanta, Georgia. Over 35,000 people attend... it is like a weekend long costume party with games, concerts, art gallerys, famous people, informational panels, indie movie premieres, and more. That is why the entire team here at Artix Entertainment attends each year. It is a chance to recharge our creative batteries, shop, meet players from the games, shop, and more stuff... like shopping. There are a lot of vendors at DragonCon with imported board games, costumes, and weird/cool stuff... it is really inspiring to check it all out.
The Friendly Team from Artix Entertainment will be there!
There are so many of us going that we chartered a bus! This year we are running a 3-hour panel on our games. If you have been to any of our panels you know what to expect... quiz questions with deadly thrown prizes, random videos, moglin punting, and s special sneak peak at things we have been working on! One-Eyed Doll and Voltaire might stop by... Maybe they will sing a song or two if we ask real nice. It would be nice if we could do some sort of live thing in-game from the panel? (Which would be quite a feat considering we will not have internet) Then later that evening co-hosting a party with Sony Online Entertainment and Comcast. We have had a fun time there each year and hope for a chance to meet you. Please note, DragonCon is geared towards older audiences... we would recommend it for ages 15 and up.

Arcangrove Disconnect
The Fix Is In
When I woke up this morning I saw 2 pages of bug reports about the same bug. People were crashing in Arcangrove. It was really frustrating because nobody could complete Reens' Daily potion tasks, or pretty much anything else.
Zhoom and I got to work and now we are fairly certain we fixed the issue.
Sorry to everyone who got DC'd during their fight and lost their progress, and thanks to the brave room of adventurers who helped me test the fix. The entire room made it through all 3 dailies without anyone crashing once.
Thanks also to everyone who went to the Release Bug forum and reported the bug. Without your very helpful reports and eye for detail it would have taken MUCH longer to fix it.
Have fun in Arcangrove!
Pay special attention to the Cysero entry in the Encyclopedia Arcana. Beacuse it's about me. Cysero.
Remember, if you think you've found a bug, the best way to let us know is on the Release Bugs forum thread!
Update
There is another bug causing disconnections in other parts of the game. We're working to resolve this one now.

Dage The Evil
One such player going by Dage The Evil is currently helping out the art team. His armor is still in the Player Suggestion shop but now we've hidden him somewhere in the game and added some of the most difficult quests in the game to him, but the rewards are worth the effort. If you can find him, you might be able to upgrade his original armor design to something far more sinister!

Friday the 13th George Lowe Event!
Due to the populatiry of this event we have extended the event rares shop and ability to get the Friday the 13th achievement badge for a few more days. They will be removed mid-week next week so if you haven't gotten the chance to check out the Event Rares or get your badge, now would be the ideal time.
The badge will come back Next Friday the 13th but the rares will be leaving forever. This is your ONLY chance to get them!
Dragoncon
One and a half weeks left until DRAGONCON 2010! As you are probably aware, every year the crew from AE's secret Underground Lab (us) pack up our things and head northwards, neither toward nor away from the setting sun, to the fabled Lost City of Atlanta. Georgia.
There we take part in the east coast's (maybe the world's) largest Sci-Fi/Fantasy convention. It's ALWAYS a fun time for geeking out, failing to sleep and meeting new friends (in fact, it's where we met Stratos, back when I was head of DragonFable). This year we've got a 3 hour panel in a much larger room than last year and we'd love to fill every seat with one or more humans. Our panels are filled with fun stuff, behind the scenes stuff, contests, free swag, moglin punting, a free rare non-member pet and we'll sign anything you put in front of us whether you want us to or not.
I signed a baby last year.
Voltaire, Kimberly and Geroge Lowe are all going to be at con and MIGHT show up for our little panel!

The magical forest of Arcangrove is home to time-travel faeries, mystic creatures, and most notably... the legendary Tower of Magic. You would be challenged to find a famous mage who has not spent time researching their art in the Magic Tower's Library -- Warlic, Cysero, Xarymandias, Mercuria and even Xan to name a few. Now it is your turn to walk through the stone, bark and star halls of the tower towards your destiny. Do not miss an opportunity to read the many books and visit the many trainers and shops there. It has been a long time since Drakath and his Chaos Lords last threatened the world... the sages shudder to dream what wicked plot now unfolds. Auto Account Bans for Hackers/Cheaters
This is an important notice. To create a fair and safe environment for all players, the game has started automatically perma-banning accounts of players who hack or cheat. Over 100 accounts have been banned in the last hour. Once an account is banned for cheating it will not be recoverable and all items will be lost. To all players who this is relavent to -- I beg you not to use any hacks or cheats... even ones that promise that your account will not be banned. The system will be continually adapting, unexpectantly banning accounts using new hacks as they are attempted. Also, as you may already know our lawyers have begun taking legal action against several hacking sites, their respective owners and the authors of hacks found there. My sincere plea to these individuals in the past has been either ignored or their promises to us had been broken. After the creation of several malicious tools to use against our game we were forced into taking this very serious course of action. Dispite being in foriegn countries, they were easily located and we are working with their local authorities. This story is still very much in progress -- but please know it is one that weighs very heavily on my heart. I love all of the players of our games and will continue to protect their accounts at any cost. With this post, and another extra backup of all accounts, I wish you fun and happiness in your in-game adventures... and a great time during the start of the Arcangrove Saga tomorrow. Battle on!

Friday the 13th has passed… but the PINK nightmare is still a reality! Don’t believe me? …uhhh have you seen the length of this post? Well you soon will if you haven’t already scrolled down a bit…
Alright, let’s get right to it. Last Friday… if you missed it by some horrendously unlucky reason… we shared the BIGGEST, BESTEST, and CRAZIEST event to date with over 34,000 of our closest friends! That’s right; since the dawning of AQWorlds, we have NEVER had a higher turnout of players! Thanks for helping make history with us!

With so much awesome going on in game… we had a crazy thing happen over here at the Lab. This was where the “bad luck” of Friday the 13th came into play (hehee, get it, cuz it’s a game that we all play…uhh…). We have had our servers crash before while hosting these crazy Events… but ummmm last Friday, we sorta brought down the ENTIRE gaming network. Ahaha, WHOOPS! If you were online around 8pm EST on Friday, then you might have noticed not only AQW going offline… but also DragonFable, MechQuest, EpicDuel, and the original AQ.
Needless to say… that was pretty epic.
A few minutes later, we got all the serves up and running again, and the entire Lab was filled with /cheers of over-caffeinated joy for managing to release this Event without any other mishaps.
…or so we thought.
Achievements & J6’s Invisible Items that are no longer invisible
Friday the 13th Achievement Badges have been given to those of you who have traveled to Ranger Lowe’s campsite. If you have been around for previous Friday the 13th Events, then your badge is already on your Character Page. Friday the 13th Achievement Badge can be obtained until this Friday, August 20th, so if you don’t have yours yet… get it before it’s too late… or wait until another Friday the 13th rolls back around!
The Stubborn Achievement was supposed to be set to “100 times”, not 10… and from here on out, the achievement has been changed accordingly. So if you were one of the few to get the badge after only 10 times… Gratz! And if you have absolutely no idea what I’m talking about… ask a fellow “stubborn” player!
And for some strange reason… the 5 RARE weapons that J6 made somehow vanished from the AC Event Shop. We have no idea where they went to, but it is confirmed that they are now back in the shop, ready for purchase. Speaking of items… the Rare Friday the 13th Items will be taken out this upcoming Friday, so make sure you get all the Rares you can while you still can!
Spoiler Alert!
Since this post isn’t nearly long enough, let’s get into some juicy details in this week’s upcoming release! We are finally ready to journey to the magical realm of Arcangrove. Arcangrove has always been a powerful place, home to ancient magi who built their renowned tower on its land. The Arcangrove Tower has become the center for all magical research and study in all the lands surrounding Battleon.
But as of late… something has gone horribly amiss with the magical energies. What started as a small quiver in their power has become an outright earthquake. The magi are losing their handle on the forces of nature and the power of magic itself. Unless something is done soon… it could mean the end of all magic on Lore. (Lim pipes in with: SCIENCE!)
Things to possibly watch out for while making your journey through Arcangrove:
* Seed Spitters—big, bad carnivorous plants that attack with a barrage of bullet seeds
* Gorillaphant—half gorilla half elephant hybrid, first discovered in DragonFable
* Magical Pet companions
* Battlemage Armor (idk if I was supposed to keep that secret?)
* An assortment of Staves and Swords embedded with magic energies
* And Chaos Lord… oh no no no wait, I’m not giving THAT sort of info out just yet >:D
Since it is Monday, I can’t surprise you with any spoiler pics. Why? Well the week only just begun, and even though our artists are super amazing… no one can work that fast, not even with a +20 agility boost.
OH but wait, there’s more! Due to popular request, the Player Suggestion Shop will be receiving a bunch of new items suggested by you and your fellow adventurers. We have so many great, talented artists out there that it was hard to narrow down our selection.
If your item gets selected and put in game… congratulations! But if not, then don’t give up! There are so many amazing ideas out there and we just don’t have the willpower to make them all. So keep on tryin’ and maybe one day you’ll see your beloved masterpiece in game!

The Event Starts Tomorrow...
Crunch Time!!!!!!!!!!!
Tomorrow at 6pm SUGT (Secret Underground Lab Time... which also happens to be EST if you happen to be up there... on the surface.) the Friday the 13th special event will begin! Well, that is the plan. We are desperately behind schedule, overwhelmed with bugs... and low on caffeine. With only one day left to build all of the remaining monsters, cutscenes, item shops and quests.... *gulps* hmmm. You know, we should make a documentary about one of these releases for you. It would be titled "Crazy guys and cute girls looking very panicked while staring intently at their computers... which are crashing... and then a zombie apocalypse broke out and they had to change the release to save the world from DOOOOM.... and there was cake." If this is your first time joining us for a major event... hold on to your helms. Tomorrow is going to be unpredictable. I will post a live play-by-play on the homepage for you. You will know what is happening (going wrong) every 15 minutes or so leading up to the start of the event. It is customary to watch in horror as everything we do falls apart minutes before the release in front of an audience of 30,000 players. Superstitious or not.... the problem with this release is it is actually happening on Friday the 13th!

Behind the Scenes
Working on Friday the 13th!
Superstitious heroes around the world insist that Friday the 13th is the most unlucky day of the year. Unluckier than breaking mirrors, walking under a ladder, or crossing the path of a black cat. Considering we have never experienced a Friday the 13th without crashing all the AdventureQuest Worlds servers... and bringing down the rest of our gaming network along with it... you might be surprised at how incredibly excited we are for the one coming this Friday! ...but if you have joined us for our previous super unlucky events, you know exactly why. This year we have only one and..... OMG!!!!!!! Beleen just tricked me into eating her pink table gum*! My mouth...! My mouth is burning... burning from the evil power of her PINK gum.... I am melting.... melting......**
Voice Acting 101
This special event has more voice acting than anything we have ever done before. George Lowe (best known for his role as Space Ghost) will be narrating our spooky anything goes tales. Kimberly from One-Eyed Doll and Voltaire have speaking parts too. Without spoiling any surprises.... Warlic is in the music room with 6 members of the team. All I can hear is them chanting "ONE OF US.... ONE OF US..... ONE OF US....." Strange noises have been coming from in there all day. On a positive note we feel this is more professional than that time we recorded the audio for the TV commercial in my bathroom.
Creating Spooky Stories.... with only 3 days left
Meanwhile, Miltonius, J6, Llussion, and the rest of the AQWorlds team has been working on the maps, cutscenes and quests for Friday's event. I am being dead serious when saying... we have never done something this big before. There are AT LEAST 4 new whole maps... and one of them is a puzzle map (more thinking, less combat) The one thing in this release that I am most excited about... is a replica of a place from Warlic and my favorite scary movie of all time. J6 built an AQWorlds in-game version of this cabin from floor plans.... as far as spoofing (or tipping our hats to things that have inspired us)... this is going to be tops. Hint: I am looking forward to wearing my Ebil Dread Paladin armor to this one.
Forum Question: What was your favorite AQWorlds event so far? All events are fair game including holiday events (like Mogloween, Frostvale, St Patty's Day, Heroes Heart, etc) and wierd events (like Talk like a Pirate Day, Mulligan day, April Fools, Wars, etc) I really enjoyed the 1st year anniversary with the Golden Onslaught. An army of over a million undead players sieging a fortress of Knights... classic.
* Table Gum. noun. A container of gum which sits in the middle of the DragonFable war-room. The team freshens their breath with it after lunch.... but whoever takes the last piece of gum has to go buy all new gum to refill it. The DragonFable team has a reputation of luring outsiders into eating the last piece of gum. This has caused touching the container table gum to be quite feared in the secret underground lab. Especially since a new rule has been added that... if you shake it, and there is one piece, it counts. Yes, this is all in our official company handbook... right next to the line which says Cysero has to finish all sushi when dining with a group of 5 or more.
** It is believed that Artix has an allergy to the color pink. Beleen uses this to tease him... endlessly.

Your Password
Dos and Don'ts For a Secure Password
Some of you have probably heard that a new hacking program has been released, and as usual it's claiming to be able to get past our defenses. Also, as usual, it's almost all talk.
I would explain exactly how it tried to brute force hack your password, and exactly why that won't work (unless you have a terrible password) but it strikes me as a bad idea to tell everybody exactly how our servers defenses work.
Zhoom has reassured us all that your accounts are safe unless you have a password that is easy to guess. So the best way to protect your account, is to change your password to something at least 8 letters long with both letters and numbers (as every good password should be)
If you want to add another layer of security to your account RIGHT NOW, head to the Master Account site and link your AQW account to your Battleon Master Account.
Unfortunately this hacker is managing to get some of our player's accounts, and we are locking them as he gets them, but he's only able to get the ones with very weak passwords. To quote Artix "our laywers and coders are on the case" trying to keep AQW safe and fun for you to play.
Now let's talk about your password...
A secure password is the safest way to guarentee that nobody will ever log into your account except you.
1. The FIRST and MOST IMPORTANT rules is to never tell anyone your password. AE staff will never ask for it. We dont need it. It says that as soon as you log in, every time you log in but we can't stress this enough.
2. Your password should never be your Character name. For example if yout character's name is BigFace123, your password should not also be BigFace123.
3. Your password should never be "password" or "secret".
4. Your password should never be "123456789", "987654321", "11111" or any string of numbers, even if the string of numbers is all mixed up and out of order, but ESPECIALLY not a string of numbers in order.
5. Your password should never be "aaaaa", "asdfghjkl", "qwerty", "abcdefg" or any really obvious string of letters.
6. Your password should never be your real name. Eventually you'll fight with a real-life friend and they will sell all your gear as revenge.
7. Your password should ALWAYS be as long as possible. I believe that AQW has a 25 character limit and I use all 25. That would literally take centuries to brute force hack, if we didn't stop a brute force attempt after several failed attempts.
8. Your password should ALWAYS have letters AND numbers in it and use punctuation if possible (which AQW passwords do allow), but avoid really obvious passwords like "AQW111"
A very long, very safe password is the best way to avoid ever getting hacked. For example, you KNOW hackers would love to get their hands on my account. You know they try to often, usually every day. I am here to tell you that NOBODY has EVER gotten into my AQW account. My first password was "7goforburnonmymark321mark!" and my current password is even better than that. I make a habit of changing them regularly.
Phrases like "go for burn on my mark" are still fairly predictable, so using random words that nobody would link to you is best. None of my passwords have ever had the words Sock or Yogurt in them.
If you think it would be a good idea you can go to manage, then click the CHANGE PASSWORD link on the side menu and change your password to a stronger one RIGHT NOW.

There Will Be Bludrut
Got a lot of complaints that Bludrut wasn't dropping enough Trophies this weekend. Minimal is in the file and raising the winning drop rate from 2-4 trophies to 2-10 trophies, depending on how hard you win.
Some people were complaining that the weapons are IMPOSSIBLE to get, which is, of course, false. They are just very very very hard to get. We wanted to add some inscentive for the people who like hard to acquire items. If it's too hard for you to get, don't get it.Still, raising the trophies should help those of you hardened and expert PvPers attain those juicy rewards before 2011.
A few people complained that the General was impossible to kill. After running a several PvP matches with you on several of my toons this weekend I can say that is PROBABLY because those folks didn't read Dumoose HOW TO for the map. You must kill the Brwalers AND the Restorers or the general will be very very hard to defeat. Once they are down, the entire team needs to focus on getting the general down because he is still the general and still pretty tough.

Finally the time has come to PvP it up with your friends... regardless if they are Members or not! Bludrut Brawl lets you pwn ANYONE. Even Mods. I hear Cysero is online right now. Go get him >:D
Join a battleground by talking to Dumoose in Battleon. You can’t miss him—he’s sporting the all new PvP Armor Set and OMGOMGOMG a HUGE sword! All of that—and so much more—can be obtained by collecting Combat Trophies and turning them in as PvP Rewards. There are 19 new PvP awards to please every adventurer.

My favorite musician Voltaire is releasing a new CD! By popular demand from his fans who have kids... this one is for everyone! (As you likely know, his other CDs were not exactly ideal for the family outing to Grandma's.) This album features the songs 'Brains' and 'Land of the Dead' from the Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy (fun show, I really like it) - the resung songs from the AQWorlds events - and even Voltaire's song that he wrote to help his son get to sleep... - Goodnight Demonslayer. (That one is Artix's favorite.)

Bludrut Brawl Changes
We've learned a lot from the PvP Testing Period which lasted WAY longer than it should have. Sorry. If you were one of the PTR PvP testers, you will notice that we have added a room where you can rest to the BB map (You used to rest IN the boss room... made the matches go on for a LONG time).
You will also be able to get new item rewards from Dumoose, our PvP Battle Master. Some of which will only be availible until we chance the PvP map again, and some will be permenant additions to the PvP. One of the upgradable weapons will be upgraded versions of the Vampiric Nightshade which, rumor has it, Edvard is currently in possession of. New upgraded versions of the weapon will be available only through PvP.
BB is STILL one of the best PvP maps we've designed to date, but we're always looking for new ideas. If you've got an idea for a PvP map, let us know on the forums!
Friday The 13th Is Coming For You

Preparation and even more preparations are going into this event. It has the largest amount of voice acting that we've ever had, blowing the One-Eyed Doll event out of the water in that area. This this is shaping up to be more like a playable horror/50's sci-fi/B movie than an AQW Event.
New in-game items, AC, Member and non-member drops, music never before heard in-game from Volatire and One-Eyed Doll. Voice acting by Volatire, Kimberly, AE Staff members and GEORGE FREAKIN LOWE! I don't think that's his real middle name.

Preparations for the LONG CON!
Only 28 more days until DragonCon! This year we have a 3 hour panel (which Artix and I will probably fill most of with our ceaseless babbling... I will also make Beleen babble some). As usual there will be Q&A, Trivia, Free Candy and other AE related swag, an AE costume contest, and other things like those things I just said.
There will, as always, be a free item that anyone who goes to the panel or finds us walking around the con gets just for saying 'HI', and as usual, we will ask those of you who attend what you would like as your free in-game item. Then we will tell you 'No', when you ask for a free class or enhancement that can kill anything in one hit, then we will ask for other more reasonable but still pretty cool ideas.
I really mean it when I say this: I hope to see you there.
It would be cool if I could meet every single AQW player in one place at one time. We'd rock the house.
Last year it was my pleasure to sit down with have lunch with Sunumbrella on the first day we met her. If I could I'd buy lunch for all of you and we'd all sit down and have a fun chat about AQW, life and everything in between.
She came all the way from New Zealand so you've got no excuse! I even bought her a shirt. Be there!

Super Awesome Crazy Day
Greetings friends! I must say... this has been the busiest few weeks of my life. (If I told you how long it took me to get to this part of the post due to people flooding into the warroom with emergencies you would seriously be laughing. It has been at least 30 minutes.) But this is what happens when so many exciting things are in the works! Some our happening right now.... like EpicDuel's Gamma release that just went live! (Way to go Titan!) In AQWorlds we have PvP coming this Friday, and then our biggest Friday the 13th event ever coming the following week!!!!!! It is either going to be the most epic thing we have ever created.... or we are not going to make it in time.... wish us luck!
Dage's Custom Armor & Arcangrove
As you may already know, J6 has taken on an apprentice named Dage. He is a young and skilled artist who has recently been crafting some amazing armors and items you have seen in our releases. A mini-riot broke out in Battleon today when players found out that Dage had given his best friend in game a set of his personal armor. (Updated the last sentence, verified.) Now, at first thought you might think... well, he made it right? So why should he not be able to give it to whomever he wants? Good question. The answer is... that is makes our fellow adventurers feel bad because there is no equal opportunity for them to get or earn the item in any way. Or put simply... it does not feel fair. So, you will be very relieved to know that Dage's armor will be available in the upcoming magical Acangrove Saga or alternatively on his Birthday. This was planned before this became an issue. In the past many mods have chosen to make their custom pets and armors available to players. Beleen gave you her Chinchilla and I have given you both my armor and my trusty side kick, Daimyo (OMG... did we miss his birthday this year?). Also... we accidently sold Ai No Miko's armor as a Kimono during the Yokai Zone (she will never let me live that down... but accidents do happen.) In the meantime, Dage has a special item coming up for you in the Friday the 13th release that you should be looking forward to!

Ok so it’s Wednesday. EpicDuel just released their Gamma update and so far… nothing has broke! Gratz, guys! And since Titan and Nightwraith seem to have perfected PvP in a MMO, we’re doing our own Player vs Player update thingymajig this Friday!
Geesh. About time too. We promised new PvP updates awhile ago… but we never promised a timeframe. See what we did there? Clever, we know!
On Friday, the Darkovia PvP map will be closed to make way for Bludrut Brawl! The grand reopening of this PTR-favorite battleground will be available for ALL PLAYERS! Yup, that’s right; Members and Non-members will finally be able to duke it out in 14 frames of 2D fury!

Being A Concise And Much Anticipated Recounting Of Orbs, Fish, PvP and Friday the 13th
Of Orbs...
If you happen to own one of Miltoious' Orb Pets, you probably noticed that last week we took the quests out of the orbs. We did this mostly to keep their rarity for you. We have added code that allows ONLY YOU the orb's master, to access the quest that will allow you to transform your rare non-ac version of the Void of Miltonius into one of the other non-AC armors once again.
We might have to change a few more things like this to actually protect those rares as rares in other pets that came from the zone. As he warned you when he began this long, strange journey... Expect changes and don't cry when they come.
If your orb doesn't give you the quest, close your game window, empty your cache and relog-in to AQW.
Of Fish...
If you were following Beleen's Twitter or My Twitter, you probably know about this already but we've got a new Pet O' The Month in Aria's Pet Shop. It's Beleen's Stupid Derp-Fish!
Someone pointed out that it has (once again) been more than enough time to add a new Pet O' The Month and Beleen discovered that it's "Catfish Month" so she took 12 seconds and drew this...

There was suddenly a mass call for Beleen's Catfish to be made into the Pet O' The Month, which I immediatly shot down. I mean, look at it. It's got a eye on it's forehead. However, as the requests piled up, and the more I looked at this stupid thing, the more I loved the idea of getting it into game.
So I spent about 7 minutes of my time, translating this monstrosity into a pet for Aria's pet shop, staying as faithful to the original design as possible.

This Friday we are closing the Darkovia PvP map and Re-opening Bludrut Brawl for ALL players (members and non-members alike will have access to the map)! It was one of the favorite maps from PTR PvP testing and we're happy to open it. Dumoose will ALSO be offering ALL NEW PvP Rewards!
Of Friday The 13th...
Artix, I and a handful of the other staff here in the secret underground lab were VERY excited to be on the phone with voice actor George Lowe as we ran through and recorded his lines for the Friday the 13th super insane-o event coming two weeks from now. Voltaire recorded his yesterday. Kimberly should be recording hers any day now. J6 is working on backgrounds and the George Lowe NPC while Milton crafts monsters and begins working on some of the longest, and best Cutscenes in this game. Skyline and Dage are both working on Friday the 13th items and PvP rewards and Beleen.... she's drawing derp-fish.

I'm pleased to say that we are already testing this week's release and it's only Tuesday. Since we are headed to con EARLY on Thursday, we have all been busting our respective humps trying to get this week's release ship shape and ready to launch on Friday. Of course we are learing EARLY on Thursday morning and I wanted to have all Wednesday to test the Mudluk Village, so we are pretty much done with the release ALREADY.
My goal was to have a quality (mind you, not-rushed, fully tested and fun) release ready to go by tonight and somehow we have succedded. I have to say, even i'm impressed with our work. This is one of the most fun and well rounded releases we've had in a while.
We have a beautiful new map, a new fun boss monster, a killer cutscene, lots of great monster drops, secret AC shop, new rep items, a great new NPC, new area music (Skyline's first try in-game song!), and a wicked puzzle that will require a pencil and some paper to get through.
Unless your friends decide to go all lamezorz and tell you the solution.
Personally, I'd make you work for it.
We even had a little time left over so we made a new Social Item (like the Marshmallow On A Stick from the Friday the 13th Event) to share with your friends. It's the FREE Color Custom Sorcerer's Apprentice Hat. Keep an eye on Twitter and other social networking sites for your free hat! You have my personal guarentee that it will never return once it is removed so keep your eyes peeled.

We will be releasing the hat later today probably but the Mudluk release isn't coming out until Friday, as usual. It's fun cramming into Artix's hotel room and releasing from Dragoncon!
Cysero's Con Survival Guide! (revised 2010 edition)
Last year, in honor of Beleen's first con, I posted my con survival guide. She managed to live through it so I've decided to repost my helpful guide here!
WHAT TO BRING
* A Large Bag. You're going to to be carrying a LOT of stuff around with you and picking up a lot of stuff as you con so a large bag is necessary.
* A Towel. Your hotel room will probably come equipped with these but I always preffer to bring a large, beach-sized towel with me wherever I go. Hitchikers listed most of the uses, but for a more practical example: I have fallen asleep in the hallways of more than one convention hotel and it's always nice to have a towel for a blanket or pillow.
Note: Cysero also wore a white bathrobe to our last panel - use your best judgement with all advice.
* Energy Bars. Meals come unpredictably during con and staying alive can be hard. You never know when you'll be stuck at a table-top gaming session that lasts 14 hours straight... and if you leave the brutal GM will just kill you.
* Bottle Of Water. See above.
* Extra Strength Energy Shots (Optional). You know, those little bottles of energy booster that they sell everywhere. These things are not great for you, but caffine and sugar have no effect on MY metabolism and you might be built the same way. Con goes day and night, all weekend long. And it's a holiday weekend. I consider them a necessity during Con.
* Cash (Well Hidden). As you explore the convention you WILL encounter some stuff you NEED to own. Swords, pithy shirts, novels, Lou Ferigno selling autographs... and there is a 50% chance that the thing you want to buy, you can't buy with plastic.. If you plan on falling asleep in a hall somewhere, be sure that your cash is in your sock or in the secret pocket in your boxers... you don't want to wake up broke.
* A Mobile Computing Device. Most modern cell phones will do, but you might not get a signal in the underground mazes that connect the convention hotels. Having a wireless card in a small laptop is priceless. A smartphone attached to a 3G network will do (con-tested my iPhone last year, worked like a dream). You might or might not Tweet. You might or might not need to check your facebook but your FRIENDS will NEED to contact you about something that you HAVE TO SEE RIGHT NOW!
* A Friend. The buddy system is always a good idea. That's why I bring Alces. He's part Dr. Gonzo, part Chief Medical Officer and part Tech Support. He is all best friend and has been for more than half of my life.
* A Camera. Fully charged. Memory card empty. NEEDS a flash. Your cell won't do for this. Too many dark corners with Halo Spartans hiding in them.
* A Zorbak Plushy. It's the ultimate ice-breaker. "Can I get a picture of you holding this guy, please?" "Sure... what is he?"
* Good Walking Shoes. Trust me.
* Glow Sticks or a Dance Party App. Last year Alces and I accidentally found ourselves in a mobile rave. One guy was wearing the sound system and power supply on his back and his two friends were each wearing giant speakers converted into backpacks. The party never stopped moving. Alces and I took a chance, caught a cab, went to an all night market and bought $44 worth of glowsticks to give to share with our fellow mobile partiers. We were gone about 4 minutes, but when we returned to the street corner, they had moved on. We spent the next hour followig the sound of those booming speakers until we caught up. If on'y we'd had the glow sticks on us!
That should be, more or less, everything that you need to pack. Other options include: clean clothes, costumes, things you want autographed, video camera, portable game systems (some lines are long), a map of the con (some of us like getting lost), a pair of scissors (for a lock of Kevin Sorbo's hair while he's passed out in a fountain somewhere), a sketchbook (for ideas), a steampunk R2 unit, Sonic Screwdriver, or grappling hook... just cause.
It's going to be a heck of a party (and I get to bring my shiny new wife and son. It'll be their first REAL CON!). It's a Artix Entertainment Underground lab tradition and it's one that we love. Last year we got to meet a few of our most hardcore fans and we hope to see a lot more of you there this year!

Teleporting the Team
... the low tech way!
As you know, we normally have 5 days to do all of the art, animation, writing, coding that we barely finish in time. But there are only 3 days this week! Monday... Tuesday... Wednesday.... and the next day would be called "We are on our way to DragonCon day!" There are over 35 of us going to DragonCon this year. Always striving to be on the front edge of technology, we are going to travel to DragonCon using teleportation. It is easy... everyone shows up at the lab at 6:30am. We start the teleporter*. The energy stream transfers their body data**. Poof***! We arrive at DragonCon****!
* Thyton knocks everyone unconcious with a wiffle bat
** We load them onto the chartered a bus. But it only holds 20 people. No worries, the AE team are set in the database as stackable items.
*** To prevent poofing we will make frequent stops at well maintained rest areas.
**** Or possibly Mexico... remember in 20 sided dice role playing games a roll of a 1 is ALWAYS a failure. And our driver will be required to make frequent perception and cartography skill checks.

Before there was even a tower in Arcangrove... there were the Mudluks. An ancient, friendly yet shy race of amphibious creatures they use magic in every part of their daily lives. Once you have made a friend of a Mudluk, you have a friend for life.

The Cloister
After investigating the flux of magic in the Observatory (or, um, whatever it turns out to be), continue your journey to the sacred Mother Tree of Arcangrove: The Cloister. Once a safe haven to the Druids, The Cloister is now overrun with nutty little Acornents, Karasu, and the dreaded Wendigo.
Ewa the Treekeeper needs your help restoring the balance to the Mother Tree in one of Lore’s most beautifully intricate maps. Srsly, this map is huge. Druids must have teamed up with J6 a long time ago to forge this awesome magical place. You’re probably ganna get lost. I know I did. And I have the cheat-sheet in front of me.

Anyway! I know you are really going to enjoy this new place. The AQW Team really put a lot of work into this release. The music Warlic made for this zone fits perfectly in… almost as if it were magic… Hmmm, coincidence? Not a chance. When you hear these tunes, you too will realize that it was fate (and maybe some caffeine) that brought these two together.

Our friend, former-chaos lord, and Friday the 13th brain slime fighter, and One-Eyed Doll lead singer, Kimberly, made a guest appearence with ArcAttack on the last episode of TV's America's Got Talent. DragonCon is almost here!
What is DragonCon?
DragonCon is a fantasy/sci-fi/anime/lots-of-stuff convention in Atlanta, Georgia. Over 35,000 people attend... it is like a weekend long costume party with games, concerts, art gallerys, famous people, informational panels, indie movie premieres, and more. That is why the entire team here at Artix Entertainment attends each year. It is a chance to recharge our creative batteries, shop, meet players from the games, shop, and more stuff... like shopping. There are a lot of vendors at DragonCon with imported board games, costumes, and weird/cool stuff... it is really inspiring to check it all out.
The Friendly Team from Artix Entertainment will be there!
There are so many of us going that we chartered a bus! This year we are running a 3-hour panel on our games. If you have been to any of our panels you know what to expect... quiz questions with deadly thrown prizes, random videos, moglin punting, and s special sneak peak at things we have been working on! One-Eyed Doll and Voltaire might stop by... Maybe they will sing a song or two if we ask real nice. It would be nice if we could do some sort of live thing in-game from the panel? (Which would be quite a feat considering we will not have internet) Then later that evening co-hosting a party with Sony Online Entertainment and Comcast. We have had a fun time there each year and hope for a chance to meet you. Please note, DragonCon is geared towards older audiences... we would recommend it for ages 15 and up.

Arcangrove Disconnect
The Fix Is In
When I woke up this morning I saw 2 pages of bug reports about the same bug. People were crashing in Arcangrove. It was really frustrating because nobody could complete Reens' Daily potion tasks, or pretty much anything else.
Zhoom and I got to work and now we are fairly certain we fixed the issue.
Sorry to everyone who got DC'd during their fight and lost their progress, and thanks to the brave room of adventurers who helped me test the fix. The entire room made it through all 3 dailies without anyone crashing once.
Thanks also to everyone who went to the Release Bug forum and reported the bug. Without your very helpful reports and eye for detail it would have taken MUCH longer to fix it.
Have fun in Arcangrove!
Pay special attention to the Cysero entry in the Encyclopedia Arcana. Beacuse it's about me. Cysero.
Remember, if you think you've found a bug, the best way to let us know is on the Release Bugs forum thread!
Update
There is another bug causing disconnections in other parts of the game. We're working to resolve this one now.

One such player going by Dage The Evil is currently helping out the art team. His armor is still in the Player Suggestion shop but now we've hidden him somewhere in the game and added some of the most difficult quests in the game to him, but the rewards are worth the effort. If you can find him, you might be able to upgrade his original armor design to something far more sinister!

Friday the 13th George Lowe Event!
Due to the populatiry of this event we have extended the event rares shop and ability to get the Friday the 13th achievement badge for a few more days. They will be removed mid-week next week so if you haven't gotten the chance to check out the Event Rares or get your badge, now would be the ideal time.
The badge will come back Next Friday the 13th but the rares will be leaving forever. This is your ONLY chance to get them!
Dragoncon
One and a half weeks left until DRAGONCON 2010! As you are probably aware, every year the crew from AE's secret Underground Lab (us) pack up our things and head northwards, neither toward nor away from the setting sun, to the fabled Lost City of Atlanta. Georgia.
There we take part in the east coast's (maybe the world's) largest Sci-Fi/Fantasy convention. It's ALWAYS a fun time for geeking out, failing to sleep and meeting new friends (in fact, it's where we met Stratos, back when I was head of DragonFable). This year we've got a 3 hour panel in a much larger room than last year and we'd love to fill every seat with one or more humans. Our panels are filled with fun stuff, behind the scenes stuff, contests, free swag, moglin punting, a free rare non-member pet and we'll sign anything you put in front of us whether you want us to or not.
I signed a baby last year.
Voltaire, Kimberly and Geroge Lowe are all going to be at con and MIGHT show up for our little panel!

The magical forest of Arcangrove is home to time-travel faeries, mystic creatures, and most notably... the legendary Tower of Magic. Now it is your turn to walk through the stone, bark and star halls of the tower towards your destiny. Do not miss an opportunity to read the many books and visit the many trainers and shops there. It has been a long time since Drakath and his Chaos Lords last threatened the world... the sages shudder to dream what wicked plot now unfolds. Auto Account Bans for Hackers/Cheaters
This is an important notice. To create a fair and safe environment for all players, the game has started automatically perma-banning accounts of players who hack or cheat. Over 100 accounts have been banned in the last hour. Once an account is banned for cheating it will not be recoverable and all items will be lost. To all players who this is relavent to -- I beg you not to use any hacks or cheats... even ones that promise that your account will not be banned. The system will be continually adapting, unexpectantly banning accounts using new hacks as they are attempted. Also, as you may already know our lawyers have begun taking legal action against several hacking sites, their respective owners and the authors of hacks found there. My sincere plea to these individuals in the past has been either ignored or their promises to us had been broken. After the creation of several malicious tools to use against our game we were forced into taking this very serious course of action. Dispite being in foriegn countries, they were easily located and we are working with their local authorities. This story is still very much in progress -- but please know it is one that weighs very heavily on my heart. I love all of the players of our games and will continue to protect their accounts at any cost. With this post, and another extra backup of all accounts, I wish you fun and happiness in your in-game adventures... and a great time during the start of the Arcangrove Saga tomorrow. Battle on!

You survived my Pink Army…

Friday the 13th has passed… but the PINK nightmare is still a reality! Don’t believe me? …uhhh have you seen the length of this post? Well you soon will if you haven’t already scrolled down a bit…
Alright, let’s get right to it. Last Friday… if you missed it by some horrendously unlucky reason… we shared the BIGGEST, BESTEST, and CRAZIEST event to date with over 34,000 of our closest friends! That’s right; since the dawning of AQWorlds, we have NEVER had a higher turnout of players! Thanks for helping make history with us!

With so much awesome going on in game… we had a crazy thing happen over here at the Lab. This was where the “bad luck” of Friday the 13th came into play (hehee, get it, cuz it’s a game that we all play…uhh…). We have had our servers crash before while hosting these crazy Events… but ummmm last Friday, we sorta brought down the ENTIRE gaming network. Ahaha, WHOOPS! If you were online around 8pm EST on Friday, then you might have noticed not only AQW going offline… but also DragonFable, MechQuest, EpicDuel, and the original AQ.
Needless to say… that was pretty epic.
A few minutes later, we got all the serves up and running again, and the entire Lab was filled with /cheers of over-caffeinated joy for managing to release this Event without any other mishaps.
…or so we thought.
Achievements & J6’s Invisible Items that are no longer invisible
Friday the 13th Achievement Badges have been given to those of you who have traveled to Ranger Lowe’s campsite. If you have been around for previous Friday the 13th Events, then your badge is already on your Character Page. Friday the 13th Achievement Badge can be obtained until this Friday, August 20th, so if you don’t have yours yet… get it before it’s too late… or wait until another Friday the 13th rolls back around!
The Stubborn Achievement was supposed to be set to “100 times”, not 10… and from here on out, the achievement has been changed accordingly. So if you were one of the few to get the badge after only 10 times… Gratz! And if you have absolutely no idea what I’m talking about… ask a fellow “stubborn” player!
And for some strange reason… the 5 RARE weapons that J6 made somehow vanished from the AC Event Shop. We have no idea where they went to, but it is confirmed that they are now back in the shop, ready for purchase. Speaking of items… the Rare Friday the 13th Items will be taken out this upcoming Friday, so make sure you get all the Rares you can while you still can!
Spoiler Alert!
Since this post isn’t nearly long enough, let’s get into some juicy details in this week’s upcoming release! We are finally ready to journey to the magical realm of Arcangrove. Arcangrove has always been a powerful place, home to ancient magi who built their renowned tower on its land. The Arcangrove Tower has become the center for all magical research and study in all the lands surrounding Battleon.
But as of late… something has gone horribly amiss with the magical energies. What started as a small quiver in their power has become an outright earthquake. The magi are losing their handle on the forces of nature and the power of magic itself. Unless something is done soon… it could mean the end of all magic on Lore. (Lim pipes in with: SCIENCE!)
Things to possibly watch out for while making your journey through Arcangrove:
* Seed Spitters—big, bad carnivorous plants that attack with a barrage of bullet seeds
* Gorillaphant—half gorilla half elephant hybrid, first discovered in DragonFable
* Magical Pet companions
* Battlemage Armor (idk if I was supposed to keep that secret?)
* An assortment of Staves and Swords embedded with magic energies
* And Chaos Lord… oh no no no wait, I’m not giving THAT sort of info out just yet >:D
Since it is Monday, I can’t surprise you with any spoiler pics. Why? Well the week only just begun, and even though our artists are super amazing… no one can work that fast, not even with a +20 agility boost.
OH but wait, there’s more! Due to popular request, the Player Suggestion Shop will be receiving a bunch of new items suggested by you and your fellow adventurers. We have so many great, talented artists out there that it was hard to narrow down our selection.
If your item gets selected and put in game… congratulations! But if not, then don’t give up! There are so many amazing ideas out there and we just don’t have the willpower to make them all. So keep on tryin’ and maybe one day you’ll see your beloved masterpiece in game!

The Event Starts Tomorrow...
Crunch Time!!!!!!!!!!!
Tomorrow at 6pm SUGT (Secret Underground Lab Time... which also happens to be EST if you happen to be up there... on the surface.) the Friday the 13th special event will begin! Well, that is the plan. We are desperately behind schedule, overwhelmed with bugs... and low on caffeine. With only one day left to build all of the remaining monsters, cutscenes, item shops and quests.... *gulps* hmmm. You know, we should make a documentary about one of these releases for you. It would be titled "Crazy guys and cute girls looking very panicked while staring intently at their computers... which are crashing... and then a zombie apocalypse broke out and they had to change the release to save the world from DOOOOM.... and there was cake." If this is your first time joining us for a major event... hold on to your helms. Tomorrow is going to be unpredictable. I will post a live play-by-play on the homepage for you. You will know what is happening (going wrong) every 15 minutes or so leading up to the start of the event. It is customary to watch in horror as everything we do falls apart minutes before the release in front of an audience of 30,000 players. Superstitious or not.... the problem with this release is it is actually happening on Friday the 13th!

Behind the Scenes
Working on Friday the 13th!
Superstitious heroes around the world insist that Friday the 13th is the most unlucky day of the year. Unluckier than breaking mirrors, walking under a ladder, or crossing the path of a black cat. Considering we have never experienced a Friday the 13th without crashing all the AdventureQuest Worlds servers... and bringing down the rest of our gaming network along with it... you might be surprised at how incredibly excited we are for the one coming this Friday! ...but if you have joined us for our previous super unlucky events, you know exactly why. This year we have only one and..... OMG!!!!!!! Beleen just tricked me into eating her pink table gum*! My mouth...! My mouth is burning... burning from the evil power of her PINK gum.... I am melting.... melting......**
Voice Acting 101
This special event has more voice acting than anything we have ever done before. George Lowe (best known for his role as Space Ghost) will be narrating our spooky anything goes tales. Kimberly from One-Eyed Doll and Voltaire have speaking parts too. Without spoiling any surprises.... Warlic is in the music room with 6 members of the team. All I can hear is them chanting "ONE OF US.... ONE OF US..... ONE OF US....." Strange noises have been coming from in there all day. On a positive note we feel this is more professional than that time we recorded the audio for the TV commercial in my bathroom.
Creating Spooky Stories.... with only 3 days left
Meanwhile, Miltonius, J6, Llussion, and the rest of the AQWorlds team has been working on the maps, cutscenes and quests for Friday's event. I am being dead serious when saying... we have never done something this big before. There are AT LEAST 4 new whole maps... and one of them is a puzzle map (more thinking, less combat) The one thing in this release that I am most excited about... is a replica of a place from Warlic and my favorite scary movie of all time. J6 built an AQWorlds in-game version of this cabin from floor plans.... as far as spoofing (or tipping our hats to things that have inspired us)... this is going to be tops. Forum Question: What was your favorite AQWorlds event so far? All events are fair game including holiday events (like Mogloween, Frostvale, St Patty's Day, Heroes Heart, etc) and wierd events (like Talk like a Pirate Day, Mulligan day, April Fools, Wars, etc) I really enjoyed the 1st year anniversary with the Golden Onslaught. An army of over a million undead players sieging a fortress of Knights... classic.
* Table Gum. noun. A container of gum which sits in the middle of the DragonFable war-room. The team freshens their breath with it after lunch.... but whoever takes the last piece of gum has to go buy all new gum to refill it. The DragonFable team has a reputation of luring outsiders into eating the last piece of gum. This has caused touching the container table gum to be quite feared in the secret underground lab. Especially since a new rule has been added that... if you shake it, and there is one piece, it counts. Yes, this is all in our official company handbook... right next to the line which says Cysero has to finish all sushi when dining with a group of 5 or more.
** It is believed that Artix has an allergy to the color pink. Beleen uses this to tease him... endlessly.

Your Password
Dos and Don'ts For a Secure Password
Some of you have probably heard that a new hacking program has been released, and as usual it's claiming to be able to get past our defenses. Also, as usual, it's almost all talk.
I would explain exactly how it tried to brute force hack your password, and exactly why that won't work (unless you have a terrible password) but it strikes me as a bad idea to tell everybody exactly how our servers defenses work.
Zhoom has reassured us all that your accounts are safe unless you have a password that is easy to guess. So the best way to protect your account, is to change your password to something at least 8 letters long with both letters and numbers (as every good password should be)
If you want to add another layer of security to your account RIGHT NOW, head to the Master Account site and link your AQW account to your Battleon Master Account.
Unfortunately this hacker is managing to get some of our player's accounts, and we are locking them as he gets them, but he's only able to get the ones with very weak passwords. To quote Artix "our laywers and coders are on the case" trying to keep AQW safe and fun for you to play.
Now let's talk about your password...
A secure password is the safest way to guarentee that nobody will ever log into your account except you.
1. The FIRST and MOST IMPORTANT rules is to never tell anyone your password. AE staff will never ask for it. We dont need it. It says that as soon as you log in, every time you log in but we can't stress this enough.
2. Your password should never be your Character name. For example if yout character's name is BigFace123, your password should not also be BigFace123.
3. Your password should never be "password" or "secret".
4. Your password should never be "123456789", "987654321", "11111" or any string of numbers, even if the string of numbers is all mixed up and out of order, but ESPECIALLY not a string of numbers in order.
5. Your password should never be "aaaaa", "asdfghjkl", "qwerty", "abcdefg" or any really obvious string of letters.
6. Your password should never be your real name. Eventually you'll fight with a real-life friend and they will sell all your gear as revenge.
7. Your password should ALWAYS be as long as possible. I believe that AQW has a 25 character limit and I use all 25. That would literally take centuries to brute force hack, if we didn't stop a brute force attempt after several failed attempts.
8. Your password should ALWAYS have letters AND numbers in it and use punctuation if possible (which AQW passwords do allow), but avoid really obvious passwords like "AQW111"
A very long, very safe password is the best way to avoid ever getting hacked. For example, you KNOW hackers would love to get their hands on my account. You know they try to often, usually every day. I am here to tell you that NOBODY has EVER gotten into my AQW account. My first password was "7goforburnonmymark321mark!" and my current password is even better than that. I make a habit of changing them regularly.
Phrases like "go for burn on my mark" are still fairly predictable, so using random words that nobody would link to you is best. None of my passwords have ever had the words Sock or Yogurt in them.
If you think it would be a good idea you can go to manage, then click the CHANGE PASSWORD link on the side menu and change your password to a stronger one RIGHT NOW.

There Will Be Bludrut
Got a lot of complaints that Bludrut wasn't dropping enough Trophies this weekend. Minimal is in the file and raising the winning drop rate from 2-4 trophies to 2-10 trophies, depending on how hard you win.
Some people were complaining that the weapons are IMPOSSIBLE to get, which is, of course, false. They are just very very very hard to get. We wanted to add some inscentive for the people who like hard to acquire items. If it's too hard for you to get, don't get it.Still, raising the trophies should help those of you hardened and expert PvPers attain those juicy rewards before 2011.
A few people complained that the General was impossible to kill. After running a several PvP matches with you on several of my toons this weekend I can say that is PROBABLY because those folks didn't read Dumoose HOW TO for the map. You must kill the Brwalers AND the Restorers or the general will be very very hard to defeat. Once they are down, the entire team needs to focus on getting the general down because he is still the general and still pretty tough.

Finally the time has come to PvP it up with your friends... regardless if they are Members or not! Bludrut Brawl lets you pwn ANYONE. Even Mods. I hear Cysero is online right now. Go get him >:D
Join a battleground by talking to Dumoose in Battleon. You can’t miss him—he’s sporting the all new PvP Armor Set and OMGOMGOMG a HUGE sword! All of that—and so much more—can be obtained by collecting Combat Trophies and turning them in as PvP Rewards. There are 19 new PvP awards to please every adventurer.

My favorite musician Voltaire is releasing a new CD! By popular demand from his fans who have kids... this one is for everyone! (As you likely know, his other CDs were not exactly ideal for the family outing to Grandma's.) This album features the songs 'Brains' and 'Land of the Dead' from the Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy (fun show, I really like it) - the resung songs from the AQWorlds events - and even Voltaire's song that he wrote to help his son get to sleep... - Goodnight Demonslayer. Bludrut Brawl Changes
We've learned a lot from the PvP Testing Period which lasted WAY longer than it should have. Sorry. If you were one of the PTR PvP testers, you will notice that we have added a room where you can rest to the BB map (You used to rest IN the boss room... made the matches go on for a LONG time).
You will also be able to get new item rewards from Dumoose, our PvP Battle Master. Some of which will only be availible until we chance the PvP map again, and some will be permenant additions to the PvP. One of the upgradable weapons will be upgraded versions of the Vampiric Nightshade which, rumor has it, Edvard is currently in possession of. New upgraded versions of the weapon will be available only through PvP.
BB is STILL one of the best PvP maps we've designed to date, but we're always looking for new ideas. If you've got an idea for a PvP map, let us know on the forums!
Friday The 13th Is Coming For You

Preparation and even more preparations are going into this event. It has the largest amount of voice acting that we've ever had, blowing the One-Eyed Doll event out of the water in that area. This this is shaping up to be more like a playable horror/50's sci-fi/B movie than an AQW Event.
New in-game items, AC, Member and non-member drops, music never before heard in-game from Volatire and One-Eyed Doll. Voice acting by Volatire, Kimberly, AE Staff members and GEORGE FREAKIN LOWE! I don't think that's his real middle name.

Preparations for the LONG CON!
Only 28 more days until DragonCon! This year we have a 3 hour panel (which Artix and I will probably fill most of with our ceaseless babbling... I will also make Beleen babble some). As usual there will be Q&A, Trivia, Free Candy and other AE related swag, an AE costume contest, and other things like those things I just said.
There will, as always, be a free item that anyone who goes to the panel or finds us walking around the con gets just for saying 'HI', and as usual, we will ask those of you who attend what you would like as your free in-game item. Then we will tell you 'No', when you ask for a free class or enhancement that can kill anything in one hit, then we will ask for other more reasonable but still pretty cool ideas.
I really mean it when I say this: I hope to see you there.
It would be cool if I could meet every single AQW player in one place at one time. We'd rock the house.
Last year it was my pleasure to sit down with have lunch with Sunumbrella on the first day we met her. If I could I'd buy lunch for all of you and we'd all sit down and have a fun chat about AQW, life and everything in between.
She came all the way from New Zealand so you've got no excuse! I even bought her a shirt. Be there!

Super Awesome Crazy Day
Greetings friends! I must say... this has been the busiest few weeks of my life. (If I told you how long it took me to get to this part of the post due to people flooding into the warroom with emergencies you would seriously be laughing. It has been at least 30 minutes.) But this is what happens when so many exciting things are in the works! Some our happening right now.... like EpicDuel's Gamma release that just went live! (Way to go Titan!) In AQWorlds we have PvP coming this Friday, and then our biggest Friday the 13th event ever coming the following week!!!!!! It is either going to be the most epic thing we have ever created.... or we are not going to make it in time.... wish us luck!
Dage's Custom Armor & Arcangrove
As you may already know, J6 has taken on an apprentice named Dage. He is a young and skilled artist who has recently been crafting some amazing armors and items you have seen in our releases. A mini-riot broke out in Battleon today when players found out that Dage had given his best friend in game a set of his personal armor. (Updated the last sentence, verified.) Now, at first thought you might think... well, he made it right? So why should he not be able to give it to whomever he wants? Good question. The answer is... that is makes our fellow adventurers feel bad because there is no equal opportunity for them to get or earn the item in any way. Or put simply... it does not feel fair. So, you will be very relieved to know that Dage's armor will be available in the upcoming magical Acangrove Saga or alternatively on his Birthday. This was planned before this became an issue. In the past many mods have chosen to make their custom pets and armors available to players. Beleen gave you her Chinchilla and I have given you both my armor and my trusty side kick, Daimyo (OMG... did we miss his birthday this year?). Also... we accidently sold Ai No Miko's armor as a Kimono during the Yokai Zone (she will never let me live that down... but accidents do happen.) In the meantime, Dage has a special item coming up for you in the Friday the 13th release that you should be looking forward to!

Ok so it’s Wednesday. EpicDuel just released their Gamma update and so far… nothing has broke! Gratz, guys! And since Titan and Nightwraith seem to have perfected PvP in a MMO, we’re doing our own Player vs Player update thingymajig this Friday!

Being A Concise And Much Anticipated Recounting Of Orbs, Fish, PvP and Friday the 13th
Of Orbs...
If you happen to own one of Miltoious' Orb Pets, you probably noticed that last week we took the quests out of the orbs. We did this mostly to keep their rarity for you. We have added code that allows ONLY YOU the orb's master, to access the quest that will allow you to transform your rare non-ac version of the Void of Miltonius into one of the other non-AC armors once again.
We might have to change a few more things like this to actually protect those rares as rares in other pets that came from the zone. As he warned you when he began this long, strange journey... Expect changes and don't cry when they come.
If your orb doesn't give you the quest, close your game window, empty your cache and relog-in to AQW.

If you were following Beleen's Twitter or My Twitter, you probably know about this already but we've got a new Pet O' The Month in Aria's Pet Shop. It's Beleen's Stupid Derp-Fish!
Someone pointed out that it has (once again) been more than enough time to add a new Pet O' The Month and Beleen discovered that it's "Catfish Month" so she took 12 seconds and drew this...

There was suddenly a mass call for Beleen's Catfish to be made into the Pet O' The Month, which I immediatly shot down. I mean, look at it. It's got a eye on it's forehead. However, as the requests piled up, and the more I looked at this stupid thing, the more I loved the idea of getting it into game.
So I spent about 7 minutes of my time, translating this monstrosity into a pet for Aria's pet shop, staying as faithful to the original design as possible.

Artix, I and a handful of the other staff here in the secret underground lab were VERY excited to be on the phone with voice actor George Lowe as we ran through and recorded his lines for the Friday the 13th super insane-o event coming two weeks from now. Voltaire recorded his yesterday. Kimberly should be recording hers any day now. J6 is working on backgrounds and the George Lowe NPC while Milton crafts monsters and begins working on some of the longest, and best Cutscenes in this game. Skyline and Dage are both working on Friday the 13th items and PvP rewards and Beleen.... she's drawing derp-fish.

GIANT SIZED FINALE

We have arrived at the end of the Giant Tale finale! If you haven't been keeping up to date, you beat up a housecat, took a trip through 80 cartoon nostalgia, raced to a bowl of soup against a bunch of roaches and you're finally ready to grab the key and rescue Jack's village from certain dinner.
We decided to try something a little different today. You have to climb the giant and fight his various body parts. Most of which have quite a few interesting drops.

Our Adver-master Ballyhoo has not been getting a lot of love recently so we decided to help her help you guys. As you know you have 10 chances a day to watch her ads and earn either gold, or... if you're lucky... FREE ACS!
We took a look at our in-game economy and realized that capping her gold per view ar 160 for lvl 30s was really cheap! So we've made it 500 FREE GOLD per view! That means that you can get 5000 Gold a day just by watching her ads.
We also made her eaiser to find. How could we make it eaiser than a big button in Battleon? How about putting her directly in Battleon, right in front of town square!
We ALSO decided to DOUBLE the chance you that you would get FREE ACs from wathcing her ads.

J6's Live Drawing Event Yesterday
Yesterday at 3:00pm EST to about 4:30 PM EST we had our first live item creation event in AQW! We streamed J6's webcam through AQW. More than 20,000 players logged in and he took suggestions live as he created the Live Dragon Ranger sword, and the culor custom member version the EPIC Live Dragon Ranger. He decided to use the esign that you helped him make and created staves and daggers to go with each sword as well!
You even helped him pick the price, 1337 gold for each weapon. For the next week you can find them in the J6 Live shop in Battleon, after that they are leaving the game forever. Be a part of AQW history by grabbing one or ALL of these amazingly cheap items, before they go Rare.

J6's 1st Live Drawing Event
First he draws his 6-shooter... then he draws it!
Today, we experimented by having our very first LIVE drawing session. J6 streamed a live video feed of his screen allowing players to watch him as he drew a weapon from scratch. Thank you to everyone who came to watch. We hope you enjoyed it and will definately be doing it again in the near future. Watching J6 draw is a lot of fun! (Maybe Miltonius can do one for us also?) I was on the Sir Ver server with my PMs on tallying up the votes from players to determine what he should do next (they flew past at 20 to 30 tells a second -- it was crazy) The items J6 drew during the event will be available in tomorrow's GIANT finale release.

Metrocon Pictures and Stories!
Wait... you guys are really real?
Last weekend the team went to the Metrocon Anime convention. It was so much fun! It was the 1st time we had ever ran a booth. Meeting people without a keyboard in-beween is so strange! Thyton and Nightwraith drew sketches for people while the rest of us talked to people about what we were building and... generally just had a lot of fun! It was a huge success. (Well, unless you are good at math. for every $1 we earned, we spent $2 on anime, manga and silly hats.) We wished you all could have been there. Until Zhoom finishes his insta-teleportation machine so we can travel everywhere... I have some pictures for you... now, it is officially against our policy to post real pictures of us on the game sites. But I am going to break the rules for you... because if I cannot meet you in person, I would like to meet you here online. So if you have been wondering what Artix and the team really look like... Here you go! (Note: I immediately regret this decision!)

We were amazed at the huge number of people who knew and had played our games. Everyone and their grandmother (literally, we met one) had played the original AdventureQuest. Meanwhile we got to meet a ton of incredibly cool AQWorlds and DragonFable players. However, it was MechQuest that shocked us all. Die hard MechQuest fans were so intense, loyal, and dedicated... and there were so many! There must be something special about delivering Pizza in a 100 ton war machine (stepping on cars may hurt your tip though.) Some players even came dressed up -- including one girl in Alpha Pirate armor! Our friends from DragonCon returned in costume as J6, Valencia, Tek, and Ash!

We had a giant candy bowl which we used to lure unsuspecting convention attendees to our booth. (Unrelated note: While normally a very healthy eater... I chomped down about 3 bowls worth of candy during the convention.) Many people were surprised when they found out that all of us running the booth actually built and run the games... we were not just some faceless corporation that just imported games from other Countries. You could see the passion and enthusiasm for the games when talking to the team. They are as super friendly in real life as they are in game! (Talking about which... the poor skeleton crew back at the lab really had a rough time. But we are going to make it up to you... we are making something EXTRA SPECIAL for you for Friday the 13th)

We had some new things with us including the ChickenCow Shirts and our first Music CD, The NPC's "Critical Hits". If you picked up one of the ones from the convention... check your email tomorrow. We will be sending instructions. If you were not there, do not worry -- they will be available with the premiere of the new HeroMart store which will open shortly. "Shop Smart... shop... HeroMart!" Unfortunately, we are now completely out of stock of Thermo-Nuclear Detonators for Toddlers and Herios Breakfast Cereal (Free Princess in every box -- be sure to rescue her before the expiration date!) Meanwhile, the MechQuest Artbook is still available at Jinx.
People watching 101. If you are ever out with a group of friends in a public place and want to do something funny... try this. During day two of the convention Cysero, Thyton, and a bunch of others went out to the center of the room and.... just looked up and stared with shocked expressions at a random spot on the ceiling. They did this for about 10 minutes without so much as glancing away. Meanwhile, back at the booth -- we video taped the reactions of people walking by. People react so weirdly! From flinching, running, studying it... but.. no one ever asks what they are looking at!
Once again, thank you to everyone for making this such a special and memorable experience. Now... what convention should we do next!?

What A Hilarious Past Few Days
So my Facebook account got disabled. There are a LOT of fakes on facebook, and I was apparently one of them.
I got disabled for being a fake Cysero. Classic.
I'm really kind of happy about that. It was great while it lasted but all the fakes and scammers on facebook make it a really dangerous place to be.
All you really need to know is that I am no longer on Facebook. Neither is Beleen. Artix IS on facebook and he also has a FANPAGE that anyone can join, but rarely gets the chance to check it just because he's so amazingly busy ALL THE TIME. there are a LOT of FAKE ARTIX's ON FACEBOOK. If you're not talking to the one I linked above, you're talking to a fake.
Any other Artix is a fake. Any Cysero is a fake (unless I decide to try to get my account re-enabled). Any Beleen is a fake. There are MANY other fake AE Staff profiles (Fake Reens, Fake Miltonius, Fake SKyline, Fake J6 and so on).
Just remember to be safe, remember that if anyone says they can get you ACs, memberships or make you a mod that they are lying and will just steal your account. Remember that AE staff will NEVER ask for your password. We don't NEED your password, we have acces to every account. Just be smart and be safe.
Anyway, sorry about all the Miltonius stuff again. We are still tying up some loose ends but this solution is finally one that will work. Remember to hang on to your Totems, as Miltonius will begin adding NEW items/ armors etc starting NEXT week, (not this Friday).
This Friday we're working on the Giant tale finale. It's been a fun story and I'm going to be sad to see it go, but it's been a nice, silly break from the constant war against chaos. We're thinking of moving into the Sandsea next. We're also considering the Bloodtusk Gorge, or Arcangrove. What would YOU guys like to see next?

The Miltonius Mess
Let's Try This Again
As you probably know, we "fixed" the issue if Miltonius selling quest item turn-ins for AC this Friday. We did this primarily for the players who were looking at their ACs and coming up short, then sending us letters to ask what happened. We keep track of items bought and sold for ACs so that we can provide you guys with the very best Player Support that we can, but unfortunately, due to the database layout, we can't track AC items that you turn in for quests which really messes up your spending record, and damages Player Supports ability to help you if you lose an item, think you lose and items or get hacked. Miltonius was unaware of this fact when he originally designed these quests and rewards.
Our solution was elegant. Replace all the items with copies that are not worth ACs, leaving the originals in tact and still able to be stored in the bank for free or sold back for ACs, while giving all new-comers a shot at these famously hard-to-get items but without the AC tracking nightmare.
We didn't want to you to feel like you'd wasted any money getting these items so we made them pretty hard to farm for. Most AC items were replaced with a number of Totems which one can only get by gaining access to Miltonius' Secret Area and killing his minions until they drop 100 Essences of Miltonius, each essence only having 10% drop rate. We did the math and found that it would take about 40 times as long to farm for a Totem as it would take to get the requisite amount of ACs by doing AExtras offers, depending on your luck in item farming.
We felt like it was a pretty fair deal. People who spent the money to save hours of their lives farming for items that were much harder to get now, got "Rare" tags on their items and got to keep them in the bank for free, while newer players still had access to the items. Problem solved, right?
Very wrong. Oh Cysero, will you ever get tired of being so wrong?
YOU did NOT feel like it was fair. Quite a few players believe that NO amount of life lost farming can equal spending $10 on ACs. You spoke, some of you more eloquently than others, and we listened to all of you.
We really want you guys to be happy, and we don't want you to feel like you EVER sspent money on AQW only to see it wasted, so here's what we are going to do now.
We're removing these items and making them Rare. As of today, you will no longer be able to obtain these items in AQW.

Let The Races Begin FINALLY!
Sorry For The Delay
You wouldn't believe the day that we've had. Poor llussion is on his last nerve trying to get all the coding done. He really wants to make a super fun mini-game and put a lot of time into but ran into some issues. So did Dumoose and I when making all the fixes to the Miltonius Zone. It also took some time adding all 43 race prizes to the minigame.

We've got 2 new armors, 3 new pets, 9 new weapons, 3 new helms, and 26 new house items! That's a whopping 43 brand new, never-before seen items that you can ONLY get by gaining racing trophies in the minigame! And you can ONLY play the minigame, if you are up to date in your Giant tale Quests!
We will have the release out as soon as we can, I promise!
The Biggest Bug
So, llussion has encountered the mother of all bugs. I guess we shouldn't have added so many roaches. The problem lies in the racing opponent AI. It was somthing that was working in the minigame engine and now is not. He has called in re-enforcememnts and busted out the COMEDICLY LARGE CAN OF BUG SPRAY.
I'm really really really sorry that the release is running so late. Believe me, we want to go home and put this week behind us as much as you want to play. I'll keep you as updated as I can.

We've both been here since about 9AM, and neither of us have eaten since lunch. Just ran out to get Llussion and myself some dinner while he yelled at his computer, and shook it a little bit. Exactly the way you don't treat a baby.
Maybe it's the glow brought on by fast food or maybe it's the fact that we've been at work for about 15 hours, but I think we're making some headway!

Zhoom has a breakthrough, finding a crack in the GREAT WALL OF BUGS. Roach racing opponent is no long bashing his face into the piles of mashed potatoes that the minigame places in his path, allowing the player to now finish the game!
Looking hopeful, right at the very second all hope seemed lost.
I should be webcasting this tragic comedy!
SIDE NOTE: Wireless mouse's off-putting taste just takes some getting used to. Now tastes like chickencow.

I've Never Used The New Design Notes System Before
This is a brand new back-end system that we're trying out. The amazing coding team put it together for us and NOW we have tags and we can link to specific entries and all kinds of good stuff. Let's see how badly I break it!
Roach Rage!
Tomorrow we're releasing the next to last section of the Giant Tale storyline, which includes a brand new racing minigame! We are also releasing loads of prizes you can earn by playing the game! Llussion has been blowing a lot of his brainpower (and coding time) on making this game interesting, and I haven't seen more than 3 seconds of it yet so we'll see how that turns out. Expect greatness.

Some of you have been saying that the Giant Tale storyline isn't very interesting or too "kiddie" for your tastes but I have been having a BLAST writing these cutscenes and it's really nice to take a break from the stress of the constant war against Chaos to just have a little silly fun.
AE has always been about silly, stupid fun and I hope we never lose that part of ourselves. It's what makes us, us. So for those of you who have been laughing along with me, thanks for keeping me company on this adventure!

That last bit is entirely true. It was also my 1337th post. W3rd.

Preparing for Metrocon
The convention is only 2 days away!
It is madness here at the lab. Cysero and the team are getting a brand new release ready for you in AQWorlds on Friday. Meanwhile, Nythera, Thyon, Miko, Faith and I are preparing to run our first ever booth at the Metrocon Convention. We created a giant 9 foot wide banner to hang behind the booth and another 9 foot wide one to go in front. We have a few never before seen things that we will be releasing at the convention... like our first music CD!

Alas... my favorite mug* has fallen in battle** and was thrown away before I came into the lab today. I shall never forget all of the days I have spent drinking boiling hot green tea... which I have always underestimated and burned my tongue on and then not able to taste lunch because I had that wierd burnt mouth-hurt feeling... while you would sit there next to my computer while I worked on the games, being warmed by my computer's overheated video card... What's Up With Miltonius' Area?
You Didn't Explain Yourself Very Well...DO BETTER!
OK, I will do better. We've been getting a HUGE number of questions about the changes coming THIS FRIDAY to Miltonius' Secret Area. If you don't know what that is, look it up. If you don't care then you can skip the next few bits.
First, Why Are You Changing It!
As many of you know AE has a very small but very dedicated Player Support team headed up by Nythera and Zazul. The team handles all the "I GOT H4CK3D!" reports, returns what accounts and items that can and deal with all the various payment issues that arrise.
Miltonius, as Art Director of the game, was given free reign to create his own area which quickly became so confusing that nobody except him had any idea what was going on, thus ensuring that it would become a fan favorite.
It became a fan favorite.
Unfortunately he added some AC items and weird item-trade-in voodoo that really messed with the payment system, causing HAVOC for the poor Player Support team and complicating their job.
As the Game Lead, the task fell on me to straighten out the entire mess once and for all. So I made Dumoose do it.
THIS FRIDAY (I can't stress that enough) we are permanently changing around the most of the AC items, repalcing a few with non-AC copies that will be MUCH MUCH harder to get.
OK, What's Changing?
We are removing a few of the quests that allow you to trade items back and forth. We are also removing ALL the items that you buy with ACs and replacing them with Totems of Miltonius.
How Will I Get Totems Of Miltonius?
Miltonius' minions, the Dark Makai, have a small chance to drop the Essence of Miltonius. You can trade in 100 of these for a Totem of Miltonius.
What Can I Buy With The Totem of Miltonius?
You will be able to use these (in various amounts) to buy MOST of the Miltonius Items, Such as the Arcane Orb, Blood Orb, Primal Orb, Shadow Orb, Void of Miltonius, Coin of Miltonius Pet, Betrayal Blade of Miltonius and others...
But I Already Have The AC Version Of That Stuff!
GREAT! Because it's going to be a LOT harder to get the new versions with these Totems of Miltomius! You lucked out!
We are NOT... I REPEAT, NOT... removing any of the items. The Chaos Lord Helm will still be there, but only as a helm. You will no longer be able to trade it in for the orbs. If you have an AC version of one of the duplicated items.... Gratz! They will be RARES on friday.
We'll be chaging the rarity score and tagging them as rare in the title! (If you happen to have one of the accidentally released non-member Coins of Miltonius Pets which is already tagged as "Rare",, then we're tagging those "Extra Rare").
Who Cares?! What About Drudgen, Crag & Bamboozle!
Due to popular demand,the Drudgen The Assisstant and Crag & Bamboozle pets will remain AC items but Miltonius will sell them directly for 5000 ACs, rather than trading you for a 5000 AC item.
YOU WILL NO LONGER BE ABLE TO TRADE ONE PET IN FOR THE OTHER, so decide which one you like the most by THIS FRIDAY!
If you have an AC item to turn in, Or decide to get one of the Miltonius items before they go rare/very VERY hard to get, You have until we release on Friday to do so. We don't want you getting stuck with a useless Miltonius Minion Voucher.

Guardian and Defender Classes

They are finally here! You guys have been waiting for quite awhile now and the time has come to introduce the newest Classes in the Verification Shops: the new-new Guardian and the old-new Defender!

Defenders and Guardians showin’ respec’t
The Defender Class (pictured left) has the same skillset as the former Guardians, but sports an incredibly awesome new look. Defenders are a NON-MEMBER Class and can be obtained from any of the 3 Verification Shops inside the Guardian Tower.
Guardians, listen up! Due to an overwhelming amount of player suggestions (aka demands), we have given the Guardian class a complete skill makeover! The new and improved Guardian Class (still Non-Member) now has incredible damage-dealing potential like the DragonLord and Star Lord classes. As a new-new Guardian, you must master the following abilities:

Guardian Rage
Furiously bombard your opponent with strikes. Damages and cripples your target, reducing outgoing damage by 5% for 10 seconds. This effect can stack up to 3 times.

Keen
Use the pointy end of your weapon for stunningly sharp attacks. Applies Keen, increasing critical chance by 15% and has a chance to Stun the target briefly.
*
Guardian Light
Empower yourself! Releases blinding damage if your weapon is Keen, otherwise increases your resistance to incoming blows.
*
Red Shift (Passive Ability)
Haste increased 10%
*
Dragon’s Might (Passive Ability)
Strength and Intellect increased 10%

Guardian Blast
Calls forth mighty dragon flames to scorch your opponents.
Yes, both of these Classes are Non-Member. But the ONLY way to get them is by verifying your upgraded accounts in AdventureQuest (specifically for Guardian Class), MechQuest, or DragonFable.

Last weekend you began retelling your heroic story of how you helped Jack save his village from a hungry giant. After defeating a gigantic guard-cat, you discovered that the only way to free the town was to get a very large key hung around the very large neck of the very large giant.

More Friends List Space!
A lot of you have asked for more friends list space. I talked to Zhoom about adding 10 more spaces for everyone for free and he said ask Artix if it was OK.
I asked Artix is it was OK if we added 10 more friends list spaces for free for everyone and he told me to ask Zhoom if the servers could handle it.
So, there ya go. Next weekend, (not tomorrow) we'll adding 10 more friend spaces for free for everyone.
Changes To The Miltonius Quests!
We've been having a lot of Player Support issues with the AC item turn-ins from the Miltonius quests, so next weekend (not this weekend) we will be removing the AC items and changing the quests. It will be rougnly 40 times more difficult to get those items from that point forward.
If you have the AC items that you need but haven't turned them in yet DO IT NOW. More than a week warning should be more than you need, but I wanted to make sure that nobody wasted their ACs.
Friday the 13th?!?!?!
Voltaire is very busy working on his NEW ALBUM (which, i'm told, will feature AQW songs AND art on the cover) so he can't do a Friday the 13th event.

Rofl’s in the Lab
A few weeks ago, I got the crazy idea to start up a new contest on the Forums. In the past, we’ve hosted Art contests, cookie-making ones, and even a pumpkin-carving competition that resulted in a particularly unlucky gourd that exploded into flames.
But this Comic Contest was my favorite one yet!
Over 750 of our friends submitted amazing comics that had the entire Secret Lab laughing out loud. Yours truly spent the past 5 days going through each entry and compiled the images into the biggest ZIP file I have ever seen. And tomorrow… these comics will face a panel of AE Judges to determine the winners!
I gatta admit, I have never LOL’d this much. Ever! And, if you know me, I’m always laughing about something. Always. But one particular comic really touched the laugh-boxes of everyone here at the Lab.
HEY FAT!
This hilarious masterpiece was made by your fellow player, Skymage55. As one of the first few submissions received, Skymage55’s work made me laugh so hard that I immediately showed Nightwraith and Titan from EpicDuel. After hearing the roar of laughter, everyone else at the Lab gathered around to see what was so funny. A few seconds later, the hallways became flooded with “HEY FAT” exclamations and cheers of “we are fat but we are STRONG!” Yea, we’re all a little weird here…
So this has been going on all week, folks. Dubbed as the “HEY FAT!” meme, Cysero took it upon himself to even make an E-Honda avatar inspired from this one comic.
If you have been following us on Twitter, you have already felt the meme’s effects. A bunch of you have joined in the meme fun, wondering why mercenarys—HEY FAT!

Beleen’s Secret Mission
Next week I will be embarking on a top-secret mission to an uncharted realm in the middle of Earth’s largest Ocean. Some people call this a ‘vacation’… I call it a QUEST!
My lovely GrandNPCs are celebrating their 50th Year Anniversary and have invited me to /join their party! For the next 2 weeks, I will hang-up my Pink Armor and equip the more appropriate Battle Swimwear (still available in the Battleon Summer Shop!). I’ll even use a SPF 20 Enhancement on my skin to help protect me from Lvl 100 critical sun rays as I explore my new surroundings. I hear there are many new Monsters and NPCs on this island… and I will be charting my travels in the form of random Twitters and photographic evidence!

AQW's BIG Adventure
This week we will be continuing the Giant Tale storyline cause I want to. You'll be making your way to the fabled Smuurvils Village, home to the blue sneevils called Smuurvils. Papa Smuurvil is a world class apothocary and he might have the ingredients to make a Knock-Out Potion strong enough to take out a GIANT!
Defender Class COMING THIS WEEK
Dumoose's rework of the Guardian Skills is total win, and will bring the Guardian Class's damage dealing potential up to the amazingly descructive level of DragonLord and Star Lord classes!
Defender will also be coming to ALL THREE verification shops... yet another non-member AQW class. It will have all the current Guardian skills and will continue to be a great tanking class with the ability to yank monster aggro AND be darn-near unkillable with the right party.

It was this. Some of you have noticed that you're getting banned by Zhoom's auto-banner for 3 days at a time. This is NOT a mistake. We checked the records for everyone who reported this as a bug over the weekend and none of them were.
Just fair warning, this week the 3-Day Warning Bans are a thing of the past... they turn into Permma-bans.
To sum up, script-kiddies... You cheat, you hack, you spam, you scam... you're done with AQW and vice versa. Play the game fair and keep it fun for the other AQW players, thanks.

Craziest Release Ideas... EVER!
Weatherman forcast predicts "BRAIN STORMING"
Over the past 8 years we have received an incredible number of your creative ideas and suggestions... but today, a new top secret project**has begun. This project may... possibly.... involve AQWorlds, an amateur film crew, a tour of the Secret Underground Lab and the usual quantity of Ninja, PIrates, Cyborgs, Vampires, and Were-servers. I was sorta wondering... did you want to be a part of this too? If so, next monday the team will be recorded looking at a special thread... this will be an anything goes... any plot... any feature... any game... even new game ideas... or even things you want the team to do in real life. Nythera and I are going to be running a booth this year at Metrocon -- Florida's Largest Anime Convention. If you are attending we hope you will visit the booth so we can meet you! It is happening July 23-25th at the Tampa Convention Center. Warlic is even make a special CD featuring music from the games and a special Zhoom track "I don't like dem Ninjas", because it is a well known that Zhoom, does not... like being attacked by Ninjas.... and it is really funny when we overdub him with a cowboy voice saying so.
Zhoom also does not like Hackers (Ban Warning!)
The ban hammer has been unsheathed and over 1,000 hacker accounts have been flagged (targeted) in the database for perma-ban. A new version of AQWorlds has just went live fixing the town-kill and attack-spam exploits that were reported yesterday and is now secretly identifying players who use cheat programs. Any characters found using cheats will be banned. We love all of our players... it is our goal to create a fun, safe and fair game world for us all to enjoy together.

Tall Tales
We are taking a small break from Chaos before to turn our attention to the next Chaos Lord. This weekend starts a new kind of adventure, it's a flashback tale of how you saved an entire village from a hungry giant, in AQW's own version of Jack and The Beanstalk.
Picture the setting: You are sitting in Yulgar's Inn telling tales of your adventures to a group of children gathered at your feet, reliving your adventure in the form of AQW quests, running around a terrifying giant's home, no larger than a mouse.
New weapons like the Cotton Swab staff, and the Acorn Cap helm. The Dust Bunny pet.
Defender Class
We haven't forgotten what we said. We are still working on the Guardian Class skill rewrite. The Guardian has long been our flagship member status from AQ classic, and it means a lot to Artix (and quite a few of the players from the game that started it all) that we make the Guardian skills more closely resemble the BoA Skills from the original AdventureQuest, and the Guradian Class from DragonFable.
Once Dumoose has reworked the skills, we will balance them against the DragonLord and Star Lord classes, then we will move the current Guardian tanking skills into the Defender art and make Defender Class availible in all 3 verification shops.
It won't be coming this weekend, but I'll keep you guys updated on the project and when it WILL be released.
NO Green Starsword.
A few days ago, a players asked me via Twitter if a weapon got enough support behind it, would it be made in game? I answered "We always do our best to listen to the wishes of the community. So, yeah, we probably would." which most of you know to be true. We pull idea pretty regularly from the AQW forums.
The same player asked how many supporters it would require, to which i answered "Considering if the petition goes through people will suddenly petition for everything, it has to be high. I'll say 3000 signatures."
I was thinking that if someone was driven enough to get 3K AQW players to sign a petition on some petition website, and all 3k signatures were legit and it wasn't an silly request like "give everyone free memberships" then I would happily reward that kind of effort by creating the item and probably name it after that person.
It takes a real leader to get that many people together behind one idea and respect that kind of power. I've seen it a few times in my life and it's pretty awe-inspiring.
We're VERY big on interacting with you guys and allowing you to build Lore through your own requests & decisions, but this suddenly degenerated into insanity.
People were spamming all the servers telling people that I promised to make a non-member free green starsword if 3000 people wore green at the same time, which I never said.
Some of these players were demaning that other players wear green "or else". There were some threats, lots of spamming on the staff facebook and twitter accounts, and outright madness on the forums that even eventually degerated into some rude and very offensive comments.
THOSE are not the kind of actions that I would consider rewarding. As i finally said on my twitter, after 2 days of mass spamming from a few rather rude people, "There are NO PLANS to make any starswords anytime soon... Not to say we won't make one someday. I love green, so we probably will. But not like this. Bullying people and ruining fun to get your way."
I'm sorry if you're disapponted by this announcement. I know a lot of people were promised a lot of crazy things by people who had no place to promise anything but we want to keep this game, and all of our games, FUN... and that wasn't fun.
It just goes to show you that some people can get excited about something, thoughtlessly take things way too far and ruin the fun for everyone.
What a mess.

France's is the 14th and a host of other countries seem to have liberated themselves from the chains of oppression and now celebrate the idea of freedom in July.

Hollowsoul Castle is known as the “castle with no end.” Legend says that the Castle itself feasts off the unlucky souls who become trapped within its corridors. Haunted by ghoulish Wraiths, Hollowsoul is a dangerous place accessible only to the bravest of Members.

GIANT SIZED FINALE
Finale, Fianlly.
We have arrived at the end of the Giant Tale finale! If you haven't been keeping up to date, you beat up a housecat, took a trip through 80 cartoon nostalgia, raced to a bowl of soup against a bunch of roaches and you're finally ready to grab the key and rescue Jack's village from certain dinner.
We decided to try something a little different today. You have to climb the giant and fight his various body parts. Most of which have quite a few interesting drops.

J6's Live Drawing Event Yesterday
Yesterday at 3:00pm EST to about 4:30 PM EST we had our first live item creation event in AQW! We streamed J6's webcam through AQW. More than 20,000 players logged in and he took suggestions live as he created the Live Dragon Ranger sword, and the culor custom member version the EPIC Live Dragon Ranger. He decided to use the esign that you helped him make and created staves and daggers to go with each sword as well!
You even helped him pick the price, 1337 gold for each weapon. For the next week you can find them in the J6 Live shop in Battleon, after that they are leaving the game forever. Be a part of AQW history by grabbing one or ALL of these amazingly cheap items, before they go Rare.

J6's 1st Live Drawing Event
First he draws his 6-shooter... then he draws it!
Today, we experimented by having our very first LIVE drawing session. J6 streamed a live video feed of his screen allowing players to watch him as he drew a weapon from scratch. Thank you to everyone who came to watch. We hope you enjoyed it and will definately be doing it again in the near future. Watching J6 draw is a lot of fun! (Maybe Miltonius can do one for us also?) I was on the Sir Ver server with my PMs on tallying up the votes from players to determine what he should do next (they flew past at 20 to 30 tells a second -- it was crazy) The items J6 drew during the event will be available in tomorrow's GIANT finale release.

Metrocon Pictures and Stories!
Wait... you guys are really real?
Last weekend the team went to the Metrocon Anime convention. It was so much fun! It was the 1st time we had ever ran a booth. Meeting people without a keyboard in-beween is so strange! Thyton and Nightwraith drew sketches for people while the rest of us talked to people about what we were building and... generally just had a lot of fun! It was a huge success. (Well, unless you are good at math. for every $1 we earned, we spent $2 on anime, manga and silly hats.) We wished you all could have been there. Until Zhoom finishes his insta-teleportation machine so we can travel everywhere... I have some pictures for you... now, it is officially against our policy to post real pictures of us on the game sites. But I am going to break the rules for you... because if I cannot meet you in person, I would like to meet you here online. So if you have been wondering what Artix and the team really look like... Here you go! (Note: I immediately regret this decision!)

We were amazed at the huge number of people who knew and had played our games. Everyone and their grandmother (literally, we met one) had played the original AdventureQuest. Meanwhile we got to meet a ton of incredibly cool AQWorlds and DragonFable players. However, it was MechQuest that shocked us all. Die hard MechQuest fans were so intense, loyal, and dedicated... and there were so many! There must be something special about delivering Pizza in a 100 ton war machine (stepping on cars may hurt your tip though.) Some players even came dressed up -- including one girl in Alpha Pirate armor! Our friends from DragonCon returned in costume as J6, Valencia, Tek, and Ash!

We had a giant candy bowl which we used to lure unsuspecting convention attendees to our booth. (Unrelated note: While normally a very healthy eater... I chomped down about 3 bowls worth of candy during the convention.) Many people were surprised when they found out that all of us running the booth actually built and run the games... we were not just some faceless corporation that just imported games from other Countries. You could see the passion and enthusiasm for the games when talking to the team. They are as super friendly in real life as they are in game! (Talking about which... the poor skeleton crew back at the lab really had a rough time. But we are going to make it up to you... we are making something EXTRA SPECIAL for you for Friday the 13th)

We had some new things with us including the ChickenCow Shirts and our first Music CD, The NPC's "Critical Hits". If you picked up one of the ones from the convention... check your email tomorrow. We will be sending instructions. If you were not there, do not worry -- they will be available with the premiere of the new HeroMart store which will open shortly. "Shop Smart... shop... HeroMart!" Unfortunately, we are now completely out of stock of Thermo-Nuclear Detonators for Toddlers and Herios Breakfast Cereal (Free Princess in every box -- be sure to rescue her before the expiration date!) Meanwhile, the MechQuest Artbook is still available at Jinx.
People watching 101. If you are ever out with a group of friends in a public place and want to do something funny... try this. During day two of the convention Cysero, Thyton, and a bunch of others went out to the center of the room and.... just looked up and stared with shocked expressions at a random spot on the ceiling. They did this for about 10 minutes without so much as glancing away. Meanwhile, back at the booth -- we video taped the reactions of people walking by. People react so weirdly! From flinching, running, studying it... but.. no one ever asks what they are looking at!
Once again, thank you to everyone for making this such a special and memorable experience. Now... what convention should we do next!?

What A Hilarious Past Few Days
So my Facebook account got disabled. There are a LOT of fakes on facebook, and I was apparently one of them.
I got disabled for being a fake Cysero. Classic.
I'm really kind of happy about that. It was great while it lasted but all the fakes and scammers on facebook make it a really dangerous place to be.
All you really need to know is that I am no longer on Facebook. Neither is Beleen. Artix IS on facebook and he also has a FANPAGE that anyone can join, but rarely gets the chance to check it just because he's so amazingly busy ALL THE TIME. there are a LOT of FAKE ARTIX's ON FACEBOOK. If you're not talking to the one I linked above, you're talking to a fake.
Any other Artix is a fake. Any Cysero is a fake (unless I decide to try to get my account re-enabled). Any Beleen is a fake. There are MANY other fake AE Staff profiles (Fake Reens, Fake Miltonius, Fake SKyline, Fake J6 and so on).
Just remember to be safe, remember that if anyone says they can get you ACs, memberships or make you a mod that they are lying and will just steal your account. Remember that AE staff will NEVER ask for your password. We don't NEED your password, we have acces to every account. Just be smart and be safe.
Anyway, sorry about all the Miltonius stuff again. We are still tying up some loose ends but this solution is finally one that will work. Remember to hang on to your Totems, as Miltonius will begin adding NEW items/ armors etc starting NEXT week, (not this Friday).
This Friday we're working on the Giant tale finale. It's been a fun story and I'm going to be sad to see it go, but it's been a nice, silly break from the constant war against chaos. We're thinking of moving into the Sandsea next. We're also considering the Bloodtusk Gorge, or Arcangrove. What would YOU guys like to see next?

The Miltonius Mess
Let's Try This Again
As you probably know, we "fixed" the issue if Miltonius selling quest item turn-ins for AC this Friday. We did this primarily for the players who were looking at their ACs and coming up short, then sending us letters to ask what happened. We keep track of items bought and sold for ACs so that we can provide you guys with the very best Player Support that we can, but unfortunately, due to the database layout, we can't track AC items that you turn in for quests which really messes up your spending record, and damages Player Supports ability to help you if you lose an item, think you lose and items or get hacked. Miltonius was unaware of this fact when he originally designed these quests and rewards.
Our solution was elegant. Replace all the items with copies that are not worth ACs, leaving the originals in tact and still able to be stored in the bank for free or sold back for ACs, while giving all new-comers a shot at these famously hard-to-get items but without the AC tracking nightmare.
We didn't want to you to feel like you'd wasted any money getting these items so we made them pretty hard to farm for. Most AC items were replaced with a number of Totems which one can only get by gaining access to Miltonius' Secret Area and killing his minions until they drop 100 Essences of Miltonius, each essence only having 10% drop rate. We did the math and found that it would take about 40 times as long to farm for a Totem as it would take to get the requisite amount of ACs by doing AExtras offers, depending on your luck in item farming.
We felt like it was a pretty fair deal. People who spent the money to save hours of their lives farming for items that were much harder to get now, got "Rare" tags on their items and got to keep them in the bank for free, while newer players still had access to the items. Problem solved, right?
Very wrong. Oh Cysero, will you ever get tired of being so wrong?
YOU did NOT feel like it was fair. Quite a few players believe that NO amount of life lost farming can equal spending $10 on ACs. You spoke, some of you more eloquently than others, and we listened to all of you.
We really want you guys to be happy, and we don't want you to feel like you EVER sspent money on AQW only to see it wasted, so here's what we are going to do now.
We're removing these items and making them Rare. As of today, you will no longer be able to obtain these items in AQW.

Let The Races Begin FINALLY!
Sorry For The Delay
You wouldn't believe the day that we've had. Poor llussion is on his last nerve trying to get all the coding done. He really wants to make a super fun mini-game and put a lot of time into but ran into some issues. So did Dumoose and I when making all the fixes to the Miltonius Zone. It also took some time adding all 43 race prizes to the minigame.

We've got 2 new armors, 3 new pets, 9 new weapons, 3 new helms, and 26 new house items! That's a whopping 43 brand new, never-before seen items that you can ONLY get by gaining racing trophies in the minigame! And you can ONLY play the minigame, if you are up to date in your Giant tale Quests!
We will have the release out as soon as we can, I promise!
The Biggest Bug
So, llussion has encountered the mother of all bugs. I guess we shouldn't have added so many roaches. The problem lies in the racing opponent AI. It was somthing that was working in the minigame engine and now is not. He has called in re-enforcememnts and busted out the COMEDICLY LARGE CAN OF BUG SPRAY.
I'm really really really sorry that the release is running so late. Believe me, we want to go home and put this week behind us as much as you want to play. I'll keep you as updated as I can.

We've both been here since about 9AM, and neither of us have eaten since lunch. Just ran out to get Llussion and myself some dinner while he yelled at his computer, and shook it a little bit. Exactly the way you don't treat a baby.
Maybe it's the glow brought on by fast food or maybe it's the fact that we've been at work for about 15 hours, but I think we're making some headway!

Zhoom has a breakthrough, finding a crack in the GREAT WALL OF BUGS. Roach racing opponent is no long bashing his face into the piles of mashed potatoes that the minigame places in his path, allowing the player to now finish the game!
Looking hopeful, right at the very second all hope seemed lost.
I should be webcasting this tragic comedy!

I've Never Used The New Design Notes System Before
This is a brand new back-end system that we're trying out. The amazing coding team put it together for us and NOW we have tags and we can link to specific entries and all kinds of good stuff. Let's see how badly I break it!

Tomorrow we're releasing the next to last section of the Giant Tale storyline, which includes a brand new racing minigame! We are also releasing loads of prizes you can earn by playing the game! Llussion has been blowing a lot of his brainpower (and coding time) on making this game interesting, and I haven't seen more than 3 seconds of it yet so we'll see how that turns out. Expect greatness.

Some of you have been saying that the Giant Tale storyline isn't very interesting or too "kiddie" for your tastes but I have been having a BLAST writing these cutscenes and it's really nice to take a break from the stress of the constant war against Chaos to just have a little silly fun.
AE has always been about silly, stupid fun and I hope we never lose that part of ourselves. It's what makes us, us. So for those of you who have been laughing along with me, thanks for keeping me company on this adventure!

That last bit is entirely true. It was also my 1337th post. W3rd.

Preparing for Metrocon
The convention is only 2 days away!
It is madness here at the lab. Cysero and the team are getting a brand new release ready for you in AQWorlds on Friday. Meanwhile, Nythera, Thyon, Miko, Faith and I are preparing to run our first ever booth at the Metrocon Convention. We created a giant 9 foot wide banner to hang behind the booth and another 9 foot wide one to go in front. We have a few never before seen things that we will be releasing at the convention... like our first music CD!

I shall never forget all of the days I have spent drinking boiling hot green tea... which I have always underestimated and burned my tongue on and then not able to taste lunch because I had that wierd burnt mouth-hurt feeling... while you would sit there next to my computer while I worked on the games, being warmed by my computer's overheated video card... I would raise my mug and toast to you.... but my hand is empty... and you are somewhere, up, there, in Heaven's Starbucks. Because... I am pretty sure... there are Starbucks everywhere. What's Up With Miltonius' Area?
You Didn't Explain Yourself Very Well...DO BETTER!
OK, I will do better. We've been getting a HUGE number of questions about the changes coming THIS FRIDAY to Miltonius' Secret Area. If you don't know what that is, look it up. If you don't care then you can skip the next few bits.
First, Why Are You Changing It!
As many of you know AE has a very small but very dedicated Player Support team headed up by Nythera and Zazul. The team handles all the "I GOT H4CK3D!" reports, returns what accounts and items that can and deal with all the various payment issues that arrise.
Miltonius, as Art Director of the game, was given free reign to create his own area which quickly became so confusing that nobody except him had any idea what was going on, thus ensuring that it would become a fan favorite.
It became a fan favorite.
Unfortunately he added some AC items and weird item-trade-in voodoo that really messed with the payment system, causing HAVOC for the poor Player Support team and complicating their job.
As the Game Lead, the task fell on me to straighten out the entire mess once and for all. So I made Dumoose do it.
THIS FRIDAY (I can't stress that enough) we are permanently changing around the most of the AC items, repalcing a few with non-AC copies that will be MUCH MUCH harder to get.
OK, What's Changing?
We are removing a few of the quests that allow you to trade items back and forth. We are also removing ALL the items that you buy with ACs and replacing them with Totems of Miltonius.
How Will I Get Totems Of Miltonius?
Miltonius' minions, the Dark Makai, have a small chance to drop the Essence of Miltonius. You can trade in 100 of these for a Totem of Miltonius.
What Can I Buy With The Totem of Miltonius?
You will be able to use these (in various amounts) to buy MOST of the Miltonius Items, Such as the Arcane Orb, Blood Orb, Primal Orb, Shadow Orb, Void of Miltonius, Coin of Miltonius Pet, Betrayal Blade of Miltonius and others...
But I Already Have The AC Version Of That Stuff!
GREAT! Because it's going to be a LOT harder to get the new versions with these Totems of Miltomius! You lucked out!
We are NOT... I REPEAT, NOT... removing any of the items. The Chaos Lord Helm will still be there, but only as a helm. You will no longer be able to trade it in for the orbs. If you have an AC version of one of the duplicated items.... Gratz! They will be RARES on friday.
We'll be chaging the rarity score and tagging them as rare in the title! (If you happen to have one of the accidentally released non-member Coins of Miltonius Pets which is already tagged as "Rare",, then we're tagging those "Extra Rare").
Who Cares?! What About Drudgen, Crag & Bamboozle!
Due to popular demand,the Drudgen The Assisstant and Crag & Bamboozle pets will remain AC items but Miltonius will sell them directly for 5000 ACs, rather than trading you for a 5000 AC item.
YOU WILL NO LONGER BE ABLE TO TRADE ONE PET IN FOR THE OTHER, so decide which one you like the most by THIS FRIDAY!
If you have an AC item to turn in, Or decide to get one of the Miltonius items before they go rare/very VERY hard to get, You have until we release on Friday to do so. We don't want you getting stuck with a useless Miltonius Minion Voucher.

They are finally here! You guys have been waiting for quite awhile now and the time has come to introduce the newest Classes in the Verification Shops: the new-new Guardian and the old-new Defender!
Guardian And Defender
Defenders and Guardians showin’ respec’t
The Defender Class (pictured left) has the same skillset as the former Guardians, but sports an incredibly awesome new look. Defenders are a NON-MEMBER Class and can be obtained from any of the 3 Verification Shops inside the Guardian Tower.
Guardians, listen up! Due to an overwhelming amount of player suggestions (aka demands), we have given the Guardian class a complete skill makeover! The new and improved Guardian Class (still Non-Member) now has incredible damage-dealing potential like the DragonLord and Star Lord classes. As a new-new Guardian, you must master the following abilities:

Guardian Rage
Furiously bombard your opponent with strikes. Damages and cripples your target, reducing outgoing damage by 5% for 10 seconds. This effect can stack up to 3 times.

Keen
Use the pointy end of your weapon for stunningly sharp attacks. Applies Keen, increasing critical chance by 15% and has a chance to Stun the target briefly.
*
Guardian Light
Empower yourself! Releases blinding damage if your weapon is Keen, otherwise increases your resistance to incoming blows.

Red Shift (Passive Ability)
Haste increased 10%
*
Dragon’s Might (Passive Ability)
Strength and Intellect increased 10%

Guardian Blast
Calls forth mighty dragon flames to scorch your opponents.
Yes, both of these Classes are Non-Member. But the ONLY way to get them is by verifying your upgraded accounts in AdventureQuest (specifically for Guardian Class), MechQuest, or DragonFable.

Last weekend you began retelling your heroic story of how you helped Jack save his village from a hungry giant. After defeating a gigantic guard-cat, you discovered that the only way to free the town was to get a very large key hung around the very large neck of the very large giant.

A lot of you have asked for more friends list space. I talked to Zhoom about adding 10 more spaces for everyone for free and he said ask Artix if it was OK.
I asked Artix is it was OK if we added 10 more friends list spaces for free for everyone and he told me to ask Zhoom if the servers could handle it.
So, there ya go. Next weekend, (not tomorrow) we'll adding 10 more friend spaces for free for everyone.
Changes To The Miltonius Quests!
We've been having a lot of Player Support issues with the AC item turn-ins from the Miltonius quests, so next weekend (not this weekend) we will be removing the AC items and changing the quests. It will be rougnly 40 times more difficult to get those items from that point forward.
If you have the AC items that you need but haven't turned them in yet DO IT NOW. More than a week warning should be more than you need, but I wanted to make sure that nobody wasted their ACs.
Friday the 13th?!?!?!
Voltaire is very busy working on his NEW ALBUM (which, i'm told, will feature AQW songs AND art on the cover) so he can't do a Friday the 13th event.

Rofl’s in the Lab
A few weeks ago, I got the crazy idea to start up a new contest on the Forums. In the past, we’ve hosted Art contests, cookie-making ones, and even a pumpkin-carving competition that resulted in a particularly unlucky gourd that exploded into flames.
But this Comic Contest was my favorite one yet!
Over 750 of our friends submitted amazing comics that had the entire Secret Lab laughing out loud. Yours truly spent the past 5 days going through each entry and compiled the images into the biggest ZIP file I have ever seen. And tomorrow… these comics will face a panel of AE Judges to determine the winners!
I gatta admit, I have never LOL’d this much. Ever! And, if you know me, I’m always laughing about something. Always. But one particular comic really touched the laugh-boxes of everyone here at the Lab.
HEY FAT!
This hilarious masterpiece was made by your fellow player, Skymage55. As one of the first few submissions received, Skymage55’s work made me laugh so hard that I immediately showed Nightwraith and Titan from EpicDuel. After hearing the roar of laughter, everyone else at the Lab gathered around to see what was so funny. A few seconds later, the hallways became flooded with “HEY FAT” exclamations and cheers of “we are fat but we are STRONG!” Yea, we’re all a little weird here…
So this has been going on all week, folks. Dubbed as the “HEY FAT!” meme, Cysero took it upon himself to even make an E-Honda avatar inspired from this one comic.

Beleen’s Secret Mission
Next week I will be embarking on a top-secret mission to an uncharted realm in the middle of Earth’s largest Ocean. Some people call this a ‘vacation’… I call it a QUEST!
My lovely GrandNPCs are celebrating their 50th Year Anniversary and have invited me to /join their party! For the next 2 weeks, I will hang-up my Pink Armor and equip the more appropriate Battle Swimwear (still available in the Battleon Summer Shop!). I’ll even use a SPF 20 Enhancement on my skin to help protect me from Lvl 100 critical sun rays as I explore my new surroundings. I hear there are many new Monsters and NPCs on this island… and I will be charting my travels in the form of random Twitters and photographic evidence!

AQW's BIG Adventure
This week we will be continuing the Giant Tale storyline cause I want to. You'll be making your way to the fabled Smuurvils Village, home to the blue sneevils called Smuurvils. Papa Smuurvil is a world class apothocary and he might have the ingredients to make a Knock-Out Potion strong enough to take out a GIANT!
Defender Class COMING THIS WEEK
Dumoose's rework of the Guardian Skills is total win, and will bring the Guardian Class's damage dealing potential up to the amazingly descructive level of DragonLord and Star Lord classes!
Defender will also be coming to ALL THREE verification shops... yet another non-member AQW class. It will have all the current Guardian skills and will continue to be a great tanking class with the ability to yank monster aggro AND be darn-near unkillable with the right party.

It was this. Some of you have noticed that you're getting banned by Zhoom's auto-banner for 3 days at a time. This is NOT a mistake. We checked the records for everyone who reported this as a bug over the weekend and none of them were.
Just fair warning, this week the 3-Day Warning Bans are a thing of the past... they turn into Permma-bans.
To sum up, script-kiddies... You cheat, you hack, you spam, you scam... you're done with AQW and vice versa. Play the game fair and keep it fun for the other AQW players, thanks.

Craziest Release Ideas... EVER!
Weatherman forcast predicts "BRAIN STORMING"
Over the past 8 years we have received an incredible number of your creative ideas and suggestions... but today, a new top secret project**has begun. This project may... possibly.... involve AQWorlds, an amateur film crew, a tour of the Secret Underground Lab and the usual quantity of Ninja, PIrates, Cyborgs, Vampires, and Were-servers. I was sorta wondering... did you want to be a part of this too? If so, next monday the team will be recorded looking at a special thread... this will be an anything goes... any plot... any feature... any game... even new game ideas... or even things you want the team to do in real life. Nythera and I are going to be running a booth this year at Metrocon -- Florida's Largest Anime Convention. If you are attending we hope you will visit the booth so we can meet you! It is happening July 23-25th at the Tampa Convention Center. Warlic is even make a special CD featuring music from the games and a special Zhoom track "I don't like dem Ninjas", because it is a well known that Zhoom, does not... like being attacked by Ninjas.... and it is really funny when we overdub him with a cowboy voice saying so.
Zhoom also does not like Hackers (Ban Warning!)
The ban hammer has been unsheathed and over 1,000 hacker accounts have been flagged (targeted) in the database for perma-ban. A new version of AQWorlds has just went live fixing the town-kill and attack-spam exploits that were reported yesterday and is now secretly identifying players who use cheat programs. Any characters found using cheats will be banned. We love all of our players... it is our goal to create a fun, safe and fair game world for us all to enjoy together.

Tall Tales
We are taking a small break from Chaos before to turn our attention to the next Chaos Lord. This weekend starts a new kind of adventure, it's a flashback tale of how you saved an entire village from a hungry giant, in AQW's own version of Jack and The Beanstalk.
Picture the setting: You are sitting in Yulgar's Inn telling tales of your adventures to a group of children gathered at your feet, reliving your adventure in the form of AQW quests, running around a terrifying giant's home, no larger than a mouse.
New weapons like the Cotton Swab staff, and the Acorn Cap helm. The Dust Bunny pet.
Defender Class
We haven't forgotten what we said. We are still working on the Guardian Class skill rewrite. The Guardian has long been our flagship member status from AQ classic, and it means a lot to Artix (and quite a few of the players from the game that started it all) that we make the Guardian skills more closely resemble the BoA Skills from the original AdventureQuest, and the Guradian Class from DragonFable.
Once Dumoose has reworked the skills, we will balance them against the DragonLord and Star Lord classes, then we will move the current Guardian tanking skills into the Defender art and make Defender Class availible in all 3 verification shops.
It won't be coming this weekend, but I'll keep you guys updated on the project and when it WILL be released.
NO Green Starsword.
A few days ago, a players asked me via Twitter if a weapon got enough support behind it, would it be made in game? I answered "We always do our best to listen to the wishes of the community. So, yeah, we probably would." which most of you know to be true. We pull idea pretty regularly from the AQW forums.
The same player asked how many supporters it would require, to which i answered "Considering if the petition goes through people will suddenly petition for everything, it has to be high. I'll say 3000 signatures."
I was thinking that if someone was driven enough to get 3K AQW players to sign a petition on some petition website, and all 3k signatures were legit and it wasn't an silly request like "give everyone free memberships" then I would happily reward that kind of effort by creating the item and probably name it after that person.
It takes a real leader to get that many people together behind one idea and respect that kind of power. I've seen it a few times in my life and it's pretty awe-inspiring.
We're VERY big on interacting with you guys and allowing you to build Lore through your own requests & decisions, but this suddenly degenerated into insanity.
People were spamming all the servers telling people that I promised to make a non-member free green starsword if 3000 people wore green at the same time, which I never said.
Some of these players were demaning that other players wear green "or else". There were some threats, lots of spamming on the staff facebook and twitter accounts, and outright madness on the forums that even eventually degerated into some rude and very offensive comments.
THOSE are not the kind of actions that I would consider rewarding. As i finally said on my twitter, after 2 days of mass spamming from a few rather rude people, "There are NO PLANS to make any starswords anytime soon... Not to say we won't make one someday. I love green, so we probably will. But not like this. Bullying people and ruining fun to get your way."
I'm sorry if you're disapponted by this announcement. I know a lot of people were promised a lot of crazy things by people who had no place to promise anything but we want to keep this game, and all of our games, FUN... and that wasn't fun.
It just goes to show you that some people can get excited about something, thoughtlessly take things way too far and ruin the fun for everyone.
What a mess.

This house has been designed with a special GREEN SCREEN room (the only room really) for people to use their movie editing programs to drop in their own amazing backgrounds and use movie magic to whisk their AQW heroes to far of locations!

The Freedom Shop!
In the United States, the 4th of July is when we celebrate our hard won independence and remember the day that we became our own nation. Canada celebrated their independence day on July 1st. France's is the 14th and a host of other countries seem to have liberated themselves from the chains of oppression and now celebrate the idea of freedom in July.
Must be something in the air, round this time of year.
Sadly, we don't have the time or man-power to make a flag for every country on Earth, or even every country who celebrates their independence day in July but we ARE able to, once again, release our American and Canadian Independence Day seasonal rares today in the Freedom Shop in Battleon, and we hope that you'll join with us in honoring freedom all over the world!

There will be an ‘encore’ of the Live Event tomorrow; Cysero has dubbed this as the Mulligan Day. We are also celebrating Freedom Day in Battleon this weekend! Last year’s seasonal items are returning along with a few new festive ones to help celebrate Freedom throughout Lore. Skyline has even made an auuuuhhhmazing Scythe that will be put in the Limited-Time Shop in Battleon. The Scythe of Liberty will ONLY be available until this Sunday at Midnight, so make sure you don’t miss out!
Hollowsoul Castle
Hollowsoul Castle is known as the “castle with no end.” Legend says that the Castle itself feasts off the unlucky souls who become trapped within its corridors. Haunted by ghoulish Wraiths, Hollowsoul is a dangerous place accessible only to the bravest of Members.
You are going to need some protection before charging through Hollowsoul Castle. Luckily for you & your soul, a specially-crafted Hollowsoul gear set has been made! Starting tomorrow night, you too can suit up in this amazing armor, helm, and weapon combo. Looks great with the Dragonhawk, too. Wahahah!
It is also rumored that you can get a mortgage on your very own 4-roomed Hollowsoul Castle Home! Don’t worry; the Wraiths and mothballs have been evicted and the House is move-in ready… as long as you don’t mind the Florida-inspired whether patterns.
